We had a wonderful time discovering this recently reopened spot. We were just cruising around and what a hidden gem. We enjoyed the great margaritas and the delicious fajitas. Highly recommend it. Their happy hour is from 3-7. Check it out you wont be disappointed
We came back to Carlos & Pepe’s tonight for the 40th anniversary of our first date here… in 1983! We met the amazing new owners and were treated to such a wonderful dining experience! The food was delicious (Pepe’s Burro was exactly as I remembered it!) and they even made an old favorite for us that is no longer on the menu. The mariachi band, the margaritas, the incredible atmosphere… it was a perfect night! We will definitely be back!!!

The best renovation I’ve ever seen at a restaurant! What an improvement. NEW menu. Great drinks. Beautiful atmosphere and the best Latin music in town. I work directly upstairs from this restaurant, and I’m so happy to see it flourish! Richard is a wonderful server!

I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant with a group of friends and we had such a wonderful time! We started with a round of watermelon basil margaritas (yum) which quickly turned into another round. For appetizers we tried the Tuna Dip, Guacamole Dip and the Nacho Mama Nachos. I can’t stress this enough when I say that the nachos are the most emotionally satisfying combination of flavors. Whew! Also, if you’re a tuna fan like myself, the dip is an absolute must!
For dinner we tried the poblano chicken and variations of their enchiladas (beef, chicken and carnitas.) The ground beef enchiladas with brown sauce, yellow rice and refied beans were my personal favorite! The dishes were seasoned to perfection!
For dessert we tried their churros and tres leches cake which was the perfect ending to our dinner. We left dinner already planning our next visit! Can’t wait to check out their happy hour and live mariachi band.

So I sauntered over to Carlos & Pepe's on SE 17th Street tonight to visit the new owners, Rich & Paula,. WOW! They added a new happy hour menu and it is awesome! Great margheritas, Mexican brewksies, street corn, (Have you had it? Get it?! Thank me later), delicious tacos (3 to a plate), wings, chips and gaucamole (to add to the complimentary chips and salsa) & more, more, more. And, YES, they still offer their famous tuna dip too! They built new private rooms to book for parties, showers or business conferences. Gorgeous! The previous owner had a stash of VERY COOL mid-century art depicting old Fort Lauderdale, Miami & The Florida Keys which is now on display. Very nice! There is also a Chef's Table for up to 10 guests. There was a great bar crowd too! How many stars can I give? 5 stars? Okay, then I'll give 6! No wait, 10 stars! Can't wait to come back! Maybe sit at the revamped indoor-outdoor bar or the al fresco dining tables. And I noticed plenty of flat screens TVs so you'll likely see me for Football Sunday's!
So I deleted my last 3 star review and updated to 5 stars! Just wow!!! Since we stepped foot inside the establishment, we were greeted and sat immediately. I loved the new renovations (open and bright and it just seems so much bigger) Tamara was our server and she did not disappoint. She was attentive and made sure my children had what they needed. The margarita and michelada we ordered were on point! Upon seeing the Instagram post about the new birria tacos, my husband and I decided to try them out. They were soooo mouth watering and the nachos were just as great. To top it off, we were serenaded by the mariachi and they were friendly as well.
Had brunch with my friends and family and watch NFL football remodel was amazing by new owners. Go Dolphins.
We had a very good lunch here but it was a bit empty because we eating at 3pm. Service was excellent but we were the only table. Margaritas and food were very good, chips are ok and salsa wasn't my favorite. But the decor is excellent and it is a nice cozy place to be. I would eat here again.

Had a great evening and experience at Carlos and Pepes. We sat at the bar and before we sat down, we were immediately greeted and asked if we wanted fresh chips and salsa. The staff was so friendly and attentive. We loved the bartender, Lauren “LG”. She had a great personality and made great drinks. Margarita pictures. Yum!
The owners were so kind, interactive and making sure our experience was great. I’ve seen some negative things said and honestly, everyone needs to show a little grace as they just took over this restaurant. The grand reopening hasn’t even happened yet. Give them the time to enhance the menu, decor, vibe etc. I am so excited to see this place upgraded and thrive. Change is a positive thing and you can’t buy a 40 year old house and do zero upgrades. Everybody relax.
We had a wonderful night and I will be back again and will bring my friends. Queso was yummy, fajitas are delicious and tacos Al carbon steak…yum. Can’t wait to see more things added to the menu like chicken tortilla soup, ceviche, fresh fish etc.
Elijah was our server and we left impressed! His attention to detail and speed was much appreciated. He was also super kind and friendly. The manager stopped by also and made sure everything was good. The changes in the menu were... noticeable. Food was not bad but we have been coming here for years and the flavors just weren't the same. But Elijah made our night great anyway.
