Kj's is satisfying and fresh every time. Im never afraid to try new things because everything is always good. Food typically comes out very fast after you order. Theres also complementary miso soup and assorted side dishes (ex. kimchi, potatoes, little savory pancakes) for most menu items. The counter girl seems a bit unfriendly but I would be too if I had to ask every person staring mouth agape at all the options if they'd prefer to sit down with a menu, ha!
So good! I have eaten here several times. Each time I order something new and it's always delicious. They have something for everyone including vegan and vegetarian options which are also delicious.
The Shag In Fayetteville
+4.5
I have got to make KJ a more frequent stop. The food is tremendous. I want to work my way through their menu. The menu can be a little overwhelming with all the options but I have never had a bad meal there. The Bulgogi is tremendous and their sushi is quite good. The owners are there most of the time too and always are so friendly and genuinely seem glad to see us. It's a welcome change from most of the non-local restaurants.
We've visited here twice. The food was excellent and you get a lot of it. I ordered the beef bulgogi (Korean BBQ) both times. I would describe it like a Korean version of fajita. The meat is served on a sizzling platter with onion, cabbage, slivered carrots, and sliced mushrooms. The marinade for the beef is slightly sweet and not spicy - my favorite of all of them. My son had the chicken fried rice, and my husband tried the spicy pork the first time (not our favorite) and the short ribs the second (much better!). The entrees came with a bowl of rice, a bowl of miso soup, and 6 "side dishes" of which they will refill if desired. The side dishes included kimchee, potatoes, pickled radish (I'm thinking daikon radish because it's in long thin strips - also this was my favorite one), savory pancake with soy sauce (another really good one), broccoli, and cucumbers. We enjoyed all of those. The menu is extensive and there are photos for some of the items. While it is a little pricy, we leave satisfied and full. The restaurant appears very clean and the staff were helpful.
Great korean place right on college. The portions are large, and the food is fresh. The meal comes with several side dishes that are all unique and delicious, especially the kimchi. Some of the sushi rolls are pre made, and not made-to-order, but overall they are still pretty fresh. In my opinion, KJ Sushi is not a sushi destination, rather it is a Korean cuisine destination. There are better options in Fayetteville for sushi (Meiji), however this is the best korean food in town. If you have never had the opportunity to eat authentic korean, here is your chance. I will definitely be back for more!
My family and I ate here Saturday evening, and it was our first visit (as well as first time for Korean food). The staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant appeared very clean. My husband and I tried the BBQ dishes- I had the beef and he had the spicy pork. My son had the chicken fried rice. We definitely got our money's worth on the amount of food we received! We all were given a bowl of coup with our orders and the side dishes as well. Everything was delicious, and we will definitely be back! I'd really like to try some of the noodle dishes as well as their sushi. There were pictures of some of the items that helped, and descriptions of the dishes as well.
You must try the FIREROLL!
It is smokey and luscious and crunchy and delicious!
Amazing food and excellent service. Will definitely good back often.
Pretty good. Not expensive. Just nice sushi. Service was really good.
My wife is Korean, so I usually get pampered throughout the week with her cooking. We both think American food gets rather boring, so if we decide to go out to eat somewhere, it's usually KJ. This place has kick ass sushi, and homegrown Korean food, makes Colton's or Golden Corral look like gas station food, we love this restaurant!
We always love the food here. Lots of variety but we do have our favorites. The staff is lovely! Be aware the women's bathroom has furniture blocking wheelchair access to the stall.
KJ's KBBQ is hands-down one of my top favorite restaurants in Fayetteville! The food is always delicious and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Whether dining in or getting takeout, my food has always come exactly as ordered, hot and with a perfect portion size! Don't let the menu intimidate you if you're used to Chinese or Japanese, there is a great option for everyone! If you're new to the restaurant, the Bibimbap is a great meal to start with. This rice bowl includes yummy veggies pickled and basic, a hefty portion of rice, plenty of slices of traditional beef, all topped with a perfectly fried egg! The ramen is always a favorite here as well, although it is more on the spicy side. Kimchi lovers should try a bowl of the Kimchi Jigae, a great option for a spicy, warming winter soup. The sushi here has always been made just right and fresh. Although not Korean, the Chicken Katsu has always hit the spot when I'm looking for something more indulgent. The bento boxes are a great deal for trying multiple items. I love KJ's Korean BBQ, it's one of my favorite hidden gems that I always recommend to friends or family!
First time trying KJ. I had the Sundubu and it was superb! It was as good as some of the best I've had in Korea town in LA. I can't believe I haven't eaten here before. The owners were super nice and got my order to me so fast! Needless to say, I'll be back to get some more food soon!
My and my boyf tried this place on a whim, and let me tell you. This is 10/10 the presentation was beautiful. Everyone was so polite and the portions were decent!
Will be coming back
I ordered Teokbeokki, and it came with a wider variety of food than I expected. Was SUPER delicious and priced accordingly :'-) makes sense during this covid era. Wife said she tasted freezer burn on the vegetables in her fried rice, but I couldn't. Tofu soup appetizer was good.
For the last couple years Kj’s has been one of my favorite restaurants in town. Even now during the pandemic they are serving great food, that’s ready in no time. Drive through only. ....try the avocado or jalapeño bombs they’re so good.
Check the online menu, order over phone, pay at drive through window... pull around front. Someone will bring you your order. Simple, fast, hot, delicious.
If this place isn’t 5 stars it needs 5 stars! Service is really good and food is even better!
Staff was insanely kind and the food was AMAZING. This is probably the only restaurant that got me eating vegetables and I loved it.
