Good hole-in-the-wall. Tasty old-school home made tasting mexican food. Used to walk here and have lunch about once a week when I worked downtown. The huevos rancheros for breakfast are pretty damn good and for lunch pretty much all their lunch specials will not disappoint. The caldo de res is very flavorful here (comes w/ lunch special) not watery and tasteless like malinche's and most other places. Both the lengua and liver a la mexicana platters are standouts.
Cheap and simple breakfast. Stopped by for breakfast since I had to get a wheel alignment across the street and it turned out to be an OK breakfast. What it comes down to is that they have very affordable breakfast options that taste good. If you want to have a cheap and decent Mexican style breakfast, well this is definitely the place you want to go to.
Flew in from Cincinnati. Walked from my hotel to eat here based on the reviews and pictures. Happy to say was pleased. Food was very tasty, served hot and good size portion. Waitress was pleasant. I would come back if I was back in town.
Best Mexican food hands down. The older lady that works there is the best. She is the grandma we all love to have around. We always take our 2 year old with us and she is great with her. One time we went my daughter had beans everywhere and she came and cleaned up the table and my daughters face and hands just like any great grandmother would do. The first time I went I thought my grandmother was cooking in the back. My wife and I can proudly say we are usual here. We have never had a bad experience. Great food, great people, over all just great.
The food is certainly good. An open menu all day. Wide selection. Looks crappy on the outside. Total hidden gem on the inside as far as food goes. Decent prices. I have gone here a few times.
This is one of the places I miss most about not going to the office downtown. Expect a “dive” appearance and don’t expect to be acknowledged right away. Lol. If you need something, get someone’s attention. You will feast on delicious, authentic Mexican food! The next best thing to the food is the price you will pay. Basic and reasonable ..... and no less better than any of the fancy places in town.
Does not look like much from the outside, but the interior is nice and the food is very good.
Had lunch there today with my spouse. Excellent food and very good and friendly service. The decor is retro 1950s and fun. The food is always fresh and tasty.
Everyone in El Paso has their favourite hole-in-the-wall Mexican place. This is mine. Good old-fashioned, greatly loved and simple meals are superb. Huevos rancheros, caldo and such are readily available. The decor takes you instantly back to a simpler, easier time. This is the kind of place where you instantly feel nostalgic on entrance. The proprietress is a great and friendly lady. Go and enjoy a simple, filling and delicious old-fashioned Mexican meal at a low price. You’ll be glad you did.
Absolutely Delicious!! After living here my whole life and never knowing about this place I feel I missed out on several years of great food!! You owe it to your mouth to try it out.
Authentic, delicious Mexican food. I can't pick a favorite meal. Their gorditas are perfect. Chips and hot salsa verde while you wait. The burgers hit the spot and the price is perfect!
Good food, good prices, great service. Have eaten here several times, always satisfied!
