Great coffee with variety of beans, including the bourbon barrel (non-alcoholic). Even the specialty coffees are not too sweet. Good ambiance, free WiFi, microwave and friendly staff! I plan to go there again.
The coffee is great, with no burned aftertaste. Iced lattes were perfect during the recent heat wave, and I expect the hot coffees are the perfect antidote to Michigan winters. Their tea is also wonderful. Many UM students bring their laptops and get a lot of studying done. They have a frequent buyer reward tag which is nice. They also encourage paying with cash, to keep the money in the community, although they will take credit cards. Their note made me think and I did use cash, as I thought it was a reasonable request.
I've been to Espresso Royale plenty of times on campus but I've never actually had much of their menu. The waitstaff was extremely kind and patient with me when I was choosing from their options. They serve delicious menu options, i.e. their zucchini bread the bomb dot-com! The cafe is pretty spacious with plenty of room for you to sit and study, read, or just hang out with people! They also have a great outside seating area. The facility is very clean and tidy!
This Espresso Royale is definitely out of the way for me, but on a day off where I need to get a lot of studying/work done, this is an excellent spot to do so. The main attraction for me is that it is a low-traffic coffee shop. I don't think I have ever had a hard time finding a seat, even one with an outlet. In fact, seating is very plentiful here relative to some of the other coffee shops I frequent, and noise levels are much lower. Baristas are nice, bathrooms are clean, drinks are basically as good as the ones at Espresso on Grand River.
If you love great coffee and really great treats to eat. This is the place. All the in house food's are made fresh daily. Wonderful people are on staff to make sure you have a fantastic experience every time you come in . Coffee house wifi . It's calm quiet and peaceful. Check it out.
They have good coffee and a nice, relaxed atmosphere. It's a very comfortable place and it's quiet enough to concentrate on reading, work or homework. The prices are comparable to the big name coffee shops as well.
I love this Espresso Royale! The staff is friendly and professional, the drinks and food are delicious, the WiFi is good. Their tea is amazing, and they know how to make it! The only downside is sometimes they don't have enough people working so you have to wait in line, but it is worth it.
Decent atmosphere. Decent coffee. No flavored creamers tho, just reg creamer or skim milk, some nutmeg or honey. No bagels at all. Just some over-priced baked sweets, a couple of bfast sandwich options & a few lunch sandwich options. Mostly tables & chairs (no padding for comfort) seating & the chairs are ungodly uncomfortable IMO any longer than sitting in them for more than 30 min so best bet is grab & go & consume while you're sitting in traffic on Lk Lansing Rd.
Coffee is great and staff is friendly! Everything comes out super fast and I rarely have to wait in line for more than half a minute. Only didn't like the coffee once and I think that's because they had just cleaned something and some of the chemicals got in my coffee 😬 Every other time has been great
Really cool cafe! They have something for everyone, if you like me are not coffee drinker, try out their "Ginger dragon' or a selection of the teas. The baristas are super friendly as well. love the place.
