First time back since COVID. The dinner menu is smaller than before, but still have plenty of local beer and wine options.
Ordered Mini Lump Crab Cakes (3 for $15), Charcuterie Board ($17), Venison ($37), 6 oz. Char-Grilled Filet ($39), Lake Perch ($26), Homemade Passionfruit Sorbet ($7).

Their Valentines dinner was amazing and the optional wine pairings were perfect. The staff were attentive and friendly. It was a beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable date night for my me and my husband.
My date and I experienced the State Rooms sunday brunch buffet this weekend, it was fantastic, the salmon with chardonnay sauce was my favourite. Our waiter was excellent along with our host. I would recommend making a reservation and to note that one can reserve a more private dinning room similar to a conference room. They served Paramount brand coffee, we purchased a pound of from the restaurant before we left. I recommend the State room for a more upscale brunch option.
Food was fantastic, the charcuterie board had cheeses fresh from their our dairy. The Waiter Joe was top notch. Fun, knowledgeable and fast.
We enjoyed a special dinner before a recent show at the Wharton Center and had an excellent experience. Savannah was our server and she (along with the rest of the staff) was friendly and attentive the whole time. The food was excellent as well. Keep up the great work!!
We had a small private room for an event, but as much as the food was off the charts, the wait staff was amazing. I believe Nick may have been the lead waiters. He was attentive, funny and made sure we were Ll then care of.
I've been to the state room once in my life and that was the Sunday before the pandemic hit. The State room used to have an all you can eat Sunday brunch and it was absolutely delicious. They offered a wide variety of delectable dishes ranging from breakfast staples like waffles, eggs and potatoes, to delicacies that'd leave your tastbuds smiling, such as prime rib, cheesecakes, parfaits, marinated chicken, and more to bout. I long for the day it returns as I have a list of friends, family and people I want to show this wonderful place to.

Service at the State Room is friendly and attentive. Food is excellent, creative, ever changing, and delicious! The wine list may be the most extensive in the area and is about the length of a book. They also carry some pretty good craft beers on draught and occasionally get special releases.
Marianne is their special events coordinator and she really has things figured out. The State Room offers a wide variety of events and includes something for everyone. Some of the events: Mother's or Father's Day brunches, wine tastings, a grill and brew event, and even an American Girl Tea Party.
Two of my favorite events are 1) Thursday's Dine Under the Stars, which is held outside on the patio during the summer months and features live jazz and half off bottles of wine, and 2) the Uncorked Scotch Tasting series hosted by the knowledgeable Glynn Gutzeit. Glynn can enthusiastically tell you anything you'd ever want to know about Scotch, Bourbon, or any other kind of whiskey. Fun fun fun!
Lastly, but certainly not leastly, the State Room will validate your parking. This is a rare and special bonus when you understand parking in East Lansing.
I hosted a business dinner and had a wonderful experience - excellent service, outstanding food, and overall a great experience. The menu caters to those with dietary restrictions. Option for a private room. Til next time!
