This place is great for soup and salad. Located in the beautiful Guardian Building, they have a solid salad bar, and very good soups that are not salty (as they often can be). They have a nice variety of soups, including vegetarian and vegan. Also, they have a jammin' ecclectic music playlist.
Really good salad bar. I've been there a ton of times and never once have I seen salad mix or toppings that looked old. Every thing is fresh and really good. There is usually a line because the place is so small, but it's worth it if you want a really good salad that you completely customize.
Small, simple place with lots of options to make your salad. The soups seem popular too (behind the counter.) The spinach and lettuce leaves have been of a high quality so far, not soggy or discolored. I'm not sure if the olive oil is 'extra virgin' or not, but it would be nicer if it was.
The trick to the salads is that they're priced by weight, so if you go heavy on dressing or chicken or other wet things, it will cost a lot more. The leaves alone, packed tight, could probably never go over 5 or 6 dollars. And that would be a feat.
So if you go easy on the heavy stuff, you can get a healthy, large salad for about 5.00, and most folks would save half for the next day. Not bad for downtown.
Kinda hard to find, but this is the place to go for a good fresh, inexpensive salad. This is a self service salad bar that has many different options and choices. They charge by weight. I'll be back to this establishment again. Great if you work downtown and need a fresh meal to go.
Great ingredients and helpful staff. Lot of soup options.
