On a hot summer day, it was the outside patio with water sprayers drew us into this establishment. The atmosphere, on a Sunday afternoon, was high energy, more crowded than is comfortable and too loud for conversation, but folks appeared to be enjoying themselves in large groups, families, and couples tucked in corners. The menu was basic with burritos and tacos at the center. The food and portions were decent for the price. The service was quick and friendly as we made our way down the buffet style line. It isn't a bad spot to stop if you're more about socializing than eating.
The breakfast tacos and burritos keep me coming back every time I'm in town! This location had a large outdoor patio with plenty of seating and very cool atmosphere with seating inside as well. A huge bar! A large parking lot in back. We had super friendly service and they even pointed us in the direction of a great local coffee shop.
Had a great time at Illegal Pete’s. My biggest takeaway was how inexpensive drinks were. In addition to inexpensive drinks, the food was good, the bartender was really nice and they had a good beer selection. The biggest highlight had to be the bathroom mirrors, because the restroom had two mirrors instead of one which meant two mirror selfies.
Lived in Denver Metro for 28 years and just tried Illegal Pete's. Will not be the last time.
Working in Denver over the summer, a friend recommended IP's so I decided to try. Read their bio and saw the local farms they work with; locally sourced? Can't beat that.
I had a taco salad with the Mexican Coke simmered pork(yum), cilantro lime rice and summer squash, fresh guacamole and queso.
Portions are nice, pork is delicious and everything is fresh and yummy.
Delivery was fast with tracking texts.
I recommend trying Illegal Pete's if you haven't.
They have a breakfast menu too.
I’m a regular here and a big fan. Every single part is just a bit better than competitors, the pricing is good, and the bar rocks. Free guacamole sub for dairy yet another thing better than the competition. Highly recommended.
Late lunch date with my hubby. We have been here many times before. Love the food and the atmosphere. Definitely recommend coming during Happy Hour. Who can say no to a burrito/tacos and margarita.
The food was decent. Nothing too special or too bland. We did not have any alcoholic beverages. Probably it is more suitable for drinking and having food on the side and not the other way round. Noticed that they have a great collection of beers. Liked the location, building and ambience.
We eat here often! Food is usually consistently good (we've had a few instances where it wasn't great) and the service is great. Great place to sit outside or watch sports. Also, they have a yummy brunch menu on the weekends
I was visiting Denver for the first time and tried this place after checking out their menu online. It's set up similarly to Chipotle, but it tastes way better! The guy who made my bowl (I didn't get his name, but he was wearing a black Endless Summer t-shirt) was super nice, informative, and gave me a great recommendation on mixing 2 different meats in my bowl (chicken and carnitas). The bowl also came with a choice of chips or tortillas. I got my food to-go but they had both indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor seating having large picnic tables and misters to help keep you cool and the indoors has a bar. Prices were perfect. Will absolutely go again next time I visit Denver!
Delicious food, great atmosphere and generally such a cool spot! What makes it though are the staff here, genuinely such great people and so friendly always up for a chat.
We’re visiting the state from the UK and they had plenty of recommendations for where to visit. They just wanted us to have a great time here 😌
