What a beautiful space complimented by the cool wood rotunda that attaches the restaurant to Hotel Indigo. The manager, Ben Roper, and staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. Even had a chance to meet Chef Jeffrey Wall who has put together an amazing menu! The wood fired oven that is visible to all is amazeballs & a highlight of their dish preparation. Here's what we tried: Grilled Bologna & Cheese - don't judge - this thing was amazing and served on a homemade hawaiian roll. Super tasty & nothing like Oscar Meyer bologna :D Beef Tartare with toast - finely minced delish steak with mustard seeds and seasonings. Oh and that egg on top was divine & perfect. Crab Beignet - super tasty & fluffy with fun potato crispy on top. Smoked Brisket Patty Melt - super great taste - some of the meat had a little too much fat but overall it was great! Short Rib - my friend ordered this but I was too busy with the other dishes to try it and now i'm sad. I heard it was good :D Hen of the Woods - ohhh, this was amazeballs - the mushrooms were so tasty Sweet Corn & Beech Mushrooms - all I can say is, they had me at "smoked Lard" Loved the taste. Overall a great experience & loved the look of the restaurant, high ceilings, the bar area, etc. It gets a little loud during busy times so don't go with someone who is a low talker. ;)

If only a review could truly encapsulate the true depth of my experience here.... I’d read a few reviews, I’d even stumbled across a mention of it in Westword however nothing prepared me for what I would encounter on a Sunday afternoon. A friend of mine had asked me if I wanted to hang out, it was Sunday and the Broncos were playing so of course I wanted to hang out, no cheering for you Donkeys! She of course, had me pick out the place that would not only have decent food, but she wanted decent drinks. I was late, Bronco traffic, but was immediately met with a smile and a hug from my friend of course! Parker would be our waiter, however he wouldn’t be the only friendly face to offer assistance with any questions that we had about the menu. Parker immediately filled my glass with water and asked if I was interested in one of their whiskey selections they were known for. I passed on the alcohol today, my companion would be the one to try them today, I was here for the food! We came during the transition hour however it didn’t matter, because the the menu was still impressive for just “provisions.” We could order whatever drinks we wanted but the menu was selected for happy hour. It was so hard to decide! I think I might have even mentioned to Parker that I wanted one of everything! He laughed and then told us what was good and what he liked and enjoyed. He went to grab a beer for my friend so while perusing the menu, another waitress walked by and asked if I had a question. She was so friendly and I wish I had gotten her name but because of her, I now want brisket on ALL of my patty melts! She was very helpful having had a wealth of knowledge in regards to how the food was prepared and what items were even made in house like the bologna! We decided on the brisket patty melt. The idea is ingenious and this chef deserves four Michelin stars because that whole patty melt dissolved like sugar glaze upon hitting my tastebuds. I’ll never look at patty melts or brisket the same for that matter. This took it up a whole Top Chef level notch. We also decided on the toast with figs and a cheese sauce that not only complimented the figs but the fresh basil that was placed so carefully on top. The bread was rustic, crunchy and a bit burnt in all the right places. I wanted to try more but I had a flag football game that I had to make that Parker made sure that I wouldn’t be late too. I want so desperately to come back for brunch, lunch, and the dinner menu! My companion was impressed with the drink selection and I was beyond amazed that many of the items were crafted in-house. I look forward to bringing friends when they are visiting in town as I hope they fall in love with Parker the way that I did. Like I mentioned before, a review simply does not do this place any kind of justice whatsoever!

Wow! If you like Bourbon then this is the place to go. They have many hard to find bourbons and whiskies. The prices are pretty solid for the quality of the Bourbons you get. I only ate lunch and I had the Prime Hanger Steak Frites...excellent! I did come back here for wine one night and it was very pricey. I hung out here about 3 times on my Denver trip and each time I had a great bartender. Good conversation and service!

The service here was great and the staff was very patient with our group 👍. The food was good too. We ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was cooked to medium, just like we asked. Overall atmosphere was very inviting and cozy from beginning to end.

Denver is becoming so much more a foodie place in such a short three years difference. I am always discovering new places to dine. Came with a group of six for an early dinner at 5:30. Why so early? I made the reservation the day before and the next available was at 8:45pm. I'd rather eat early than late. Cavernous. Pretty much the understated classy appeal starts from the outside of the main door. The H&D initial looks formidable. The inside opens up to a high ceiling and sparse decor. The staff was amazing. Knowledgeable and on point with her recommendations. I love it when they know their food. We had the following: Crudo, Meringue, grilled broccolini, leek risotto, hen of the woods, grilled bass, cherry bobomb, paper plane and Altos Malbec. The last three above are our choices for our imbibe. That Malbec was one of the best I've tried. At $13/glass X 3 not bad. Btw Hen of the Woods is not a fowl like we thought. It was one of the best mushrooms ever! This was one of our waitresses suggestion. Right on the money! It's the cousin of the Shitake mushroom. So it's earthy and meaty. Almost like eating meat! The Boned In Ribeye. This alone should have its own menu. It's that good! The Grilled Bass? Ahmaazing! Even the Grilled Broccolini was different. Just so much better in taste and texture! If you're a Risotto gal/guy then dive into this one! It's perfectly cooked and seasoned well! So in short this place is so worth it. The $150 boned in Rib Eye is calling my name. Again! This as explained on their menu can feed 4 people. I'd say because it's so good; those burnt ends..GET YOUR own! They can also serve you a whole suckling pig with a minimum requirement of 6 people. And a call ahead requirement as well. Two days ahead is it? Reserve now if you're inclined to visit H&D. They get booked pretty much everyday!

Brand new restaurant with great food and good cocktails. A focus on whiskey but there are also some other choices with a full bar. The food is pricey but delicious. A very gourmet feel to the dishes and cooked to perfection. I certainly recommend this place for a gathering over a great meal.

Great new restaurant. I loved the trendy setting, the staff and the food. It is a bit pricey but so worth it. And you can't go wrong on a date night here with the great wine and whiskey lists. My hubby and I will be going back soon!

I loved how knowledgeable the staff was about their cocktails. I ordered the Going Down Proper with the chicken wings. The drink was amazing. I can't wait to try more.

I tried two new (to me!) things tonight: 1. A Japanese gin, ?Suntory? . It was wonderful!!! 2. A veal cheek ragu with mushrooms. Beyond phenomenal. This was an excellent example of the menu, variety, and showcased the skills of both the kitchen and bar (?selectors?). I had a long day, and my evening was just made so much easier! Also, the service (*shout out a John P!!!*) was fantastic! Thank you to everyone for making my night out wonderful!!

checked out this restaurant for an early dinner. we made a reservation and though there were only two other tables sat, we were taken to a booth near the restrooms. the booth was very comfy, but we thought the seating was odd. the cocktail list was extensive - especially if you enjoy whisky. we had two gin cocktails (pictured) which were delicious. Service was prompt and very accommodating considering half of the party has food allergies. The meat and cheese selection is a very nice way to try a number of interesting charcuterie - these were enjoyable. I will say that both of the entrees ordered were bland - a fish dish and a pasta, chosen after some other items were not available. I'd give the restaurant another chance on food because the service experience was positive.
