Great staff, great atmosphere, and the best home cookin' you can get outside of the real town of Mayberry! I believe Aunt Bee herself would even approve!
Cute and clean themed restaurant. Simple country style offerings, where you can get your fix of fried foods and veggies. Nice helpful waitstaff.
Walked over in the snow tonight with my fiancé. We both ordered the fried chicken dinner special. Pleased to find out they let me switch one of the pieces out for another breast. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Very good however the sides were hardly warm at best. Server was kind with a warm smile but I did feel rushed being offered a box multiple times while I was still eating. Love supporting locally owned restaurants and happy they were open on a cold snowy Sunday.
Great first time. Went hiking at McCloud Nature Park then stopped in here. We had rattlesnake pasta dish and bluegill, both were outstanding! The pasta sauce was fresh and awesome. Pretty good tomato basil soup too. Overall, good meals, nice variety, nice saladbar and easy to relax there. Will be back, wish it was closer to us!
Great home cooking- and way too much food for lunch. You might need a to go container.
Best Fried Chicken!. Hands down, no one in Indiana has them beat. Chicken was very juicy...and boneless! I love me some boneless fried chicken. Also, their mashed potatoes were so good that I bypassed dessert and got a second serving of them instead! Really, that good. Thank you for a marvelous experience.
Thumbs up for fresh, heathy and yummy!. New to area and we finally tried a few places this weekend. We loved Mayberry because it was relaxing and the food was great. We had an appetizer that was apple-cinnamon something and yummy! I had a strawberry pecan salad with grilled chicken and the raspberry sauce made it! My brother had the ribs and loved them and his wife had a prime rib, that was too big for her but she said it was good. Server said we shoud try some of their other dishes, which we will. It's nice not having to go towards the city for a good dinner. The salad bar had lots to choose from and most of the extras on it were homemade, which was nice to know because fresh and healthy is good in this heat. Thumbs up from us!
Great find!. Moved here a year ago and kept driving by, not stopping (never sure with small places), but was surprised. Nice change. Son had the 3pc fried chicken said it was awesome. I had a homemade meatloaf, mashed potatos and saladbar with homemade broccoli salad, bean salad, coleslaw all good. Server helped us with the too big menu, said desserts weren't homemade, but wife and I shared a cobbler which was still good. Wife really liked the flatbread pizza. Will be back, should've stopped in sooner. Wish they served breakfast. Theme- ok, but mostly clean, quaint, good food.
A charming little place with great staff and a good atmosphere. Some of the food was a little bland though. Overall, good stuff. Nice menu as well.
Nice spot for lunch. Passed through Danville and decided to give it a try. Both the food and service were good. if you like homestyle cooking this is a great stop.
We had a nice, quiet dinner and Brittni took great care of us. I had the large bowl of broccoli cheddar soup and it was really LARGE! Large enough to share. I also had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, which were good. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. The sweet tea was exceptional.
If your looking for a good home cooked meal this is the place. I had grilled chicken with a garlic seasoning (available blackened as well) side salad (could have been a meal by its self), and green beans just like my mom makes. Very tasty. Make sure you order deep fried bisquits with apple butter for your appetizer. They are a must have. Our waitress, Tanisha provided excellent service.
Friendly staff. We had a fantastic waitress. All of the food was pretty good. We got the beer cheese pretzel bites and they were great. I have to take 1 star off for the bland mac&cheese.
The blue gill and cobbler were fantastic.
Cool decor and good food. Served fast by polite waitresses. You are able to watch the Andy Griffith Show from any table. Two floors, great street view from second floor windows. Cool memorabilia on the walls and great souvenirs. Some great photo ops, especially with the Squad car out front. Quaint town and restaurant is on the square. There is a Mayberry Days once a year. This is a can't miss fun experience!
Today we had the pleasure of sitting upstairs, and a very nice view of town hall from up top looking down. Don't turn down an opportunity to start off the meal with complimentary fresh baked rolls with a cinnamon honey butter. The warm rolls melt the butter, and just divine to eat. They introduced a Smoked Ribs meal that was delicious. I could have eaten them just as is without a wet sauce. It was that good. Smoky, flavorful and tender meat covered sparingly, bust just enough, with a mild yet flavorful bbq sauce. Combined with green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy this meal was a perfect dinner. If Smoked Ribs are on the Specials Menu you should definitely try them. Our server was very friendly and happy.
You feel like you are back in Mayberry on the set of The Andy Griffith Show. The theme is evident throughout the restaurant by the decor, street signs, sheriff's car, pictures, memorabilia and constant running of the Andy Griffith Show episodes. We ordered the Fried Biscuits & Apple Butter appetizer, and enjoyed it. Light and fluffy biscuits coated in cinnamon sugar, and the Apple Butter was perfectly smooth with the right amount of spice. The Blue Gill dinner was mild and flaky and lightly coated and fried, and with tartar sauce it tasted even better. The baked potato and broccoli were baked and cooked to perfection. Aunt Bee's Fried Chicken was juicy and had a light and crispy coating. The mashed potatoes were so delicious that they did not need any butter. The Peach Cobbler dessert had a nice flavor with a hint of cinnamon, and tasted even better with vanilla ice cream. Simple food made great.
One of the best breaded tenderloins I've eaten.
They was out of onion rings but the fries were good. Drove from Greenwood to Danville because we've heard about this place and wanted to try it.
My husband got the cod fish and chips it wasn't bad but we've had better.
Neat little diner very clean and our waitress was over the top friendly. Oh and very cute and clean restrooms.
