I celebrated my birthday here...We were greeted by 2 wonderful hostesses, and one of them even volunteered to take pictures for us. The food was beautiful and delicious. The waiter was very attentive and kind. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a fabulous experience. I had the salmon, and my husband had the deconstructed beef Wellington. Excellent!
We needed to be in Danville for a late night event so went on Urban Spoon and the reviews on Peasant & the Pear made us decide to try it. We really.enjoyed our dinner, the atmosphere is very pleasant....elegant enough, casual enough, everyone having a good time. The service was wonderful and the food very yummy.....my husband's comment on his filet mignon steak dish was "outstanding" and of course, we tried the pear tart....supper excellent...the crust really flaky and fruit/ice cream combination wonderful. So many dishes we wanted to try that we'll certainly be back here when in the area.
Thank You, Sir, May I Have Another?. Oh, where to start? Lunch, dinner, brunch, kick-ass cocktails...you name it, this place has it! IThe P&P is my favorite spot in the East Bay to suit my every dining whim. The flatbread pizzas are perfect, the whole menu is really diverse, the wine list is so totally reasonable you'll pinch yourself, and the service is always promt and attentive without being stuffy or fussy. No attitude here, folks, just a terrific, seasonal menu and fun atmosphere where you'll want to clean your plate but won't have to clean out your wallet. Chef Rodney Worth is so talented and so obviously loves what he does and his enthusiasm trickles down through his fantastic staff to the diners. 5 out of 5 stars and a true gem of the East Bay; there aren't many places that have figured out this formula for success.
Fantastic Pears for Pairs. This restaurant is a superb dining experience. The food is fantastic with wonderful combinations and delicious drinks to go with it. The Peartini is incredible and having just one isn't possible.
The dinners are warm, wonderful, and tempt all the taste buds. But save room for dessert and order the Pear Tart!
For lunch you cannot beat the creative and delectable pizzas. And the smoked chicken salad sandwich is the best I've had.
The chef, Rodney Worth, visits the table and shares his contagious laugh and spirit. This familiar and friendly atmosphere is further protrayed by the professional and attentive staff.
Visit this restaurant and you will always come back!
I loved the old location of this restaurant because it was so cozy, but I get it, the location became available, and it is much larger so more folks can enjoy the great food. We ordered the braised short ribs, lamb shank and salmon special. The lamb shank melts in your mouth, as does the short rib (their specialty). Atmosphere not as nice as the old place, and can be a bit noisy. Go for the delicious food, you won't be disappointed!
Some of the dishes were somewhat bland. The risotto was a little dry. The white wine sauce masked the prawns' flavours. Salmon was tender and wonderful. The pork had a wonderful aftertaste. Service was friendly and thoughtful. Would recommend if you're in the neightbouring city. Wouldn't recommend travelling further than that.
Love this place. We go her often. Mostly the food is amazing. Great atmosphere as well.
Great food, great atmosphere, a little pricey but you get what you pay for as always, which everything was delicious! Totally worth the cost. I have been places that charged more for not as good quality. We got the french dip and the Lamb Shank. I was blown away by the lamb shank, literally fall off the bone!! I swapped the Polenta for Mashed potatoes. The prawns appetizer was also delicious!
Enjoyed my food, though the apps were not on point.
Had a tasty burger. Fries were cooked well. Service was great. Would go back.
Used The Peasant and the Pear catering menu for our daughter’s engagement party…so fun and absolutely delicious Paella!
Over the previous weekend, the weather was absolutely delightful, as summer hadn't yet reached its peak. It felt like the perfect time to indulge in some exceptional cuisine and top-notch service at the renowned establishment known as Peasant & the Pear. Upon entering the restaurant, we received a warm and friendly welcome. Although it had been years since our last visit due to the distance, I initially had some trouble finding their new location. Nevertheless, we were eventually seated at a beautiful table outdoors. Our experience was further enhanced by a fantastic waitress who assisted me in selecting from their updated menu offerings.
One particular appetizer that stood out was the pear and cheese between tortillas, accompanied by a delectable chutney dip. Its flavors were truly delightful. The dinner itself was nothing short of amazing, consistent with our previous experiences. It's worth mentioning that the ambiance at Peasant & the Pear is undeniably one of its greatest selling points. If you happen to be in town, I highly recommend giving them a try.
One of the best restaurants in Danville. On the recommendation of some friends my wife and I came here for our anniversary and had a wonderful meal. Seating on the patio is perfect on a warm evening. While the prices appear a little high, it’s worth every penny. The food is excellent and the portions are generous. I’ll definitely be coming back, although will probably save this restaurant for special occasions.
I haven’t been here in years but WOW, things are so good! The new location is right in the heart of Danville downtown, taking over the previous pizza place.
Everything I had was so high quality and fresh! It was probably the best dinner I’ve had in Danville in a very very long time! I had the chicken salad sandwich and the bishop ranch salad, both were so good!
Can’t wait to come back!
I cannot say enough about Rodney worse. He is a well-known chef in the Danville area during the pandemic he had to close a few of his restaurants so my husband and I would frequent the peasant and the pear as often as possible. It is by far one of our most favorite restaurants, so good that I know I should try other restaurants but I just crave going to Rodney’s place. He is a great community contributor as well. I recommend the pulled pork sandwich.
