This is definitely a hidden gem and don’t let the location deter you from experiencing the family owned restaurant, promise it’s worth it. Plenty of parking which is free.
The owners are very friendly, warm and welcoming along with the great staff. The restaurant is very clean, colorful and relaxing, as you can clearly tell the owners take great pride in their business.
There is plenty seating including a full bar with tabletop seating. Menu is full of great tasty options. Wife and I shared the chicken tortilla soup, which is fantastic!!
The broth very flavorful, chicken tender and had cut carrots, potatoes and big tortilla chips garnished with cheese and pico. Definitely recommend the soup and from others were eating we can’t wait to come back.

I don’t typically take time to do reviews but I’m visiting in Texas for work and found this gem on Google . My team and I took a chance and this place turned out to be a gem . The food was fantastic and the customer service was amazing everyone was friendly and welcoming . I’ll be coming back here before I leave! Thankyou for an amazing dinning out experience which is very hard to find!

We had visited the area for a conference, and we were so thrilled we found El Rey! The owner is the sweetest and took great care of us. The food was great and so quick. We had to go back after our first day because we knew it was going to be another great trip! Thank you!!!!

Food was delicious, the man taking our order was super nice. We had a spicy chicken burrito with chips and queso and a lemonade. It was so good, love the large Mason jar for the lemonade. Awesome!!! Yes, this place is in the hood but they take security seriously. Come and get some good food. 👍🏾
I got to meet the owner Evelyn and she was amazing! Food is authentic and fresh. I’m going to come all the time now. Also, I forgot to mention their margaritas are amazing!!
Tacos are small, but taste great- good tortillas(both flour and corn)!

Great food, great service, reasonably priced & generous portions. This has become my go-to Mexican spot in Dallas. It’s not a Tex Mex restaurant pretending to be authentic Mexican. :) it’s also family owned & family run. Happy to have found this little gem.
