With Coronavirus - 19 in full force. We were lucky to experience Vespertine’s wonderful food and passionate staff! The current menu is a dedication to Chef’s Mom. Very flavorful Cuban Cuisine. It was a delight for our taste buds!
We drove up and was meet with a staff member. She informed us when our food will be ready. We walked over and enjoyed their garden. And then they carefully placed the bags in our vehicle. When we returned home. The food was thoughtfully packaged. And an instructional note with QR code that guides us to an amazing story and menu. There is even food for breakfast. Which I love! The dining experience continues into the next day.
I hope to be fortunate to experience Vespertine in the near future.

Originally Vespertine minimum number of dinner for was four. I thought about calling and see if they could have dinner for two. Lucky for us I received an email including dinner for two. Actual the sides were for two, the turkey, and pie were for four folks.
The dinner was awesome. Perhaps the best Thanksgiving ever! The food was well prepared and perfectly instructed to prepare at home. Picking up the order was performed by their very professional staff...
We went for our anniversary and I'm so happy we did. Everyone at Vespertine was so lovely. It was a very unique experience, and all of the courses came out so beautifully. We both did the alcohol pairing and usually I'm very picky, but I liked everything that came out. We went downstairs after dinner and had dessert with more alcohol pairing! It was a very romantic setting and perfect for our anniversary. Thanks so much for letting us go to the kitchen!
Easily the best restaurant in los Angeles and one of the best in the us. For the price I don't see how they make any money. Truly a value for the us. The staff truly went out of their way to make us happy. Thank you so much for the amazing experience.
The only thing I thought was odd was they didn't serve bread and I mentioned it to them. They brought me some amazing bread from their sister restaurant and let me take a few loaves home as a parting present. Oddly the bread was amazing and they don't normally serve it. If u get a chance ask for the rye bread. Truly delicious. The various sauces are super delicious to eat with the beard don't miss out.
Unequivocally the most inventive, fascinating and delicious meal I will ever enjoy. It's an experience. It's a meditation. It's a journey to a distant foreign, unimaginable planet. I am writing this review the following morning and there are still tastes swirling around the back of my palate. Dining at Vespertine is not a meal - it's an event.
I would say this is the best fine dining restaurant in LA! The dishes are well presented and nice decorated. The experience started from the warm welcome by the chef, and then we were guided to the roof to enjoy the appetizer. After that, we took the elevator to the second floor to start the main dishes and desserts. I really love their desserts! At the end, they gave us an small gift. One thing I don’t really like is the seating style - the tables of party of 2 face other parties. It feels a bit uncomfortable.

Vespertine is haute cuisine from a culture that doesn't actually exist. The ingredients are of this planet--indeed, the focus is on Californian sourced ingredients--but they are not familiar. Different cuisines take an element and do unique things with it; think of how differently a tomato is used by Italians, Japanese, and Peruvians. Vespertine wants to prove there are still other ways. This is a world where sparkling redwood extract, atemoya fruit, smoked ground lamb heart, and dried giant kelp are not out of place, but actually make sense together.
This goes beyond the food--the entire experience is designed by artists. The architecture is striking. The layout of the restaurant is vertical; food descends from the kitchen on the top floor. There is unsettling ambient music consisting of five separate ambient tracks, played in different parts of the space, but carefully coordinated so that they never clash. When we left, three and a half hours later, we were given a small sample of the custom perfume that had been used to gently scent the napkins.
I had an amazing experience! The combination created with food, location, sound and service is unique and for the whole dinner it takes you in a parallel world, where at each meal you try something completely different from the canonical restaurants.
Well deserving of its 2 Michelin stars. Amazing experience from not only a gustatory but also olfactory and visual standpoint.
You might as weIl experience everything, so check all the boxes. But for future visits i would skip the $30 after-dinner additional desert course in the garden. We were already stuffed after the dinner courses.
