Love, love, love the restaurant, service and specially the food 😻... this was our 1st visit. We were received and seated by a welcoming staff. The ambiance and staff was on point. Chef Yo-Yo start us off with the West Indian Curried Crab Cake and the Island Conch Fritters appetizers, and high recommendation to the Panamanian "Ron Abuelo" cocktail and moscato. Soon after, a well season Lamb & Potatoes, Seared Salmon with pico de gallo & cilantro cream, Jerk Chicken Penne Pasta, Sautéed Angus Stake for our main entrees. We wrapped up the night with a warmed and delicious Molten Lava Chocolate Cake for dessert. Meals was well priced based on service and food. This evening was the ultimate palette experience 😻.... This local rate very high on my list of restaurant to recommend to circle of friends 😎👍🏾
I had the scallops, love it. The waiter, Sam was the best...The food and service was awsome. I recommend it.
The mojhitos are award winning and they deserve that. They are special in way were you can have many without feeling it. Very smooth and delicious. The food is amazing. The bells of all these spices form a unique aroma. The chicken is just succulent. The salmon is great taste and beautifully cooked. The dessert was special and perfect to end the feast, especially the small mango bits it's served with.
Dinner. There were three of us dining and we had different entrees which all were delicious.
We took a group of 10 so we were able to try a variety of things on the menu. All the meals were fantastic but I tried to highlight some of our favorites (and an appetizer that didn't hit the mark).
Favorites:
Drinks- House martini Ortanique is fabulous. Worth a try even at the price. For the daring in the group the Passion Pill is the way to go- fruity but with the spice of a hot pepper. (Some kind of bonnett pepper- same scale as a ghost pepper). This will burn your lips if you drink too many!!
Appetizers: Mussells were best I had in awhile. Oversized, tasty and hot! Cheese plate had a good variety and fruits. I would avoid the conch and corn fritters- not a lot of taste or flavor and you don't get much.
Meals: Rave reviews for Cornish Hen, Filet and the amazing Pork Chop and Grouper. All were good - but these were tops with everyone.
Dessert:
If you love bananas and peanut butter like I do- you can't go wrong with the Rum soaked banana press. Loved It!!!
Exceptional!. The food, the service, exceptional. I highly recommend the mussels; the broth could be a menu item on it's own. Be careful when going to the restroom. Female guests couldn't tell which of the characters were male and which were female, probably due to the signature drink that night!
Spectacular, wonderful. Absolutely one of the most spectacular culinary experiences you'll ever have. Everything is magnificent.
Crab cakes are amazing, the double pork chop is ridiculously good. The only thing that doesn't blow me away at Ortanique are the deserts, which are good but not as amazing as the rest of the food.
My fiancee and I have all of our special special event meals at Ortanique if we can. It's just the best.
Best Mojitos in town. Food is excellent, service can get overwhelmed at times. Well worth the splurge.
The interior is dimly lit and enchanting, like the inside of a lushly decorated tent. The food, unique and delicious. We left overfull and deeply satisfied with everything. Great for a special occasion. Highly recommend!
Great food, but extremely loud.... The food in this fine restaurant is reliably tasty, if sometimes a bit sweet, but be careful what night you choose to go here. The acoustics reflect every sound, so on the weekends when it is busiest you can't hear the person next to you talk. On balance it is worth going, but for its food and not its ambience.
Just Spectacularly Yum!. My husband and I had dinner at Ortanique and Wow! Being jamaican and a chef myself I was expecting a purely Jamaican menu I was disappointed that it wasn't but the food was MAGNIFICENT! This is jamaican , carribbean for everyone! My mojo pork appetizer - I could have eaten 10 orders of it - the pulled pork complimented by the smokey flavor of the chipotle sauce was perfectly flavored. I order the Jerk Chicken Pasta and DAMN let me just say I wish I could have it everyday! My husband had the just Huge Jerk Pork Chop (ordered extra spicy) and I could not resist the ordering a side a rice and peas and IT did not disappoint! So let's talk service - OVER THE TOP. At no time did we feel abandoned or forgotten. If fact it was the opposite - attentive without being overbearing. WELL TRAINED STAFF! Needlessy to say - we will be back. There is just one CON - they are so far way from Delray Beach :(
