This place earned five stars for the food alone, so I'm sad I couldn't add more stars. The waitress was doubling as hostess and working like crazy. She apologized for the cook taking a long time, but honestly we were talking and didn't notice any major wait.
Now for the food. First, sorry for not having better pictures. It was all so good we kinda forgot to take pictures. My wife and I are Missouri born and raised. We wanted to be so mad about the toasted ravioli with burnt ends. Who's heard of T-Ravs being covered in bbq sauce like they were?? But any idea of that went out the window with the first bite. The burnt ends were on par with the bbq pits of KC. The T-Ravs were delicious in the our right as well.
All of this and that was just out appetizer! I then had the two filet of catfish with fried okra and potato salad. Okra could use a little more salt but that was probably only noticeable because the potato salad was flavorful and I'm going to need a moment to describe the catfish.
Most places, I have grown accustomed to smothering catfish in tartar sauce. And so I asked for some per usual. I tried a bite without it and I'm so glad I did! I tried a small bite with the tartar sauce and it just wasn't right at all. I ended up not using it and enjoyed the amazing catfish as it was. The breading sticks to the fish and doesn't fall everywhere. The fish is soft without being mushy at all! In my pictures, I put a piece of my okra on a filet to show how giant these things were. I ended up only eating one and a half of them.
My wife ordered the chicken sandwich and this thing was giant. We again forgot pictures before she had eaten half of it. Again wonderful. And her fries were wonderfully crispy.
All of this to say, we can't wait to go back!
I live in Indianapolis and was traveling to Central Kansas. I stopped halfway and met my brother at McLanks. Great food, great option to sit outside, and great service! We loved everything we tried. Fried fish, brisket gyro, Philly Cheesesteak fries, toasted ravioli with burnt ends and The Sando! You must save room for the Apple pie!!! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and can’t wait to come back soon!
Service is great. Portion of food was perfect. Food tasted great & plenty of tables. I will be back.

Great experience at McLanks! Super measures for COVID! Felt perfectly safe. Pulled pork sandwich and fries was outstanding! Adored the toasted ravioli and burnt ends! Sheila was a joy to talk to! Go check them out! It's worth the trip!
Absolutely FANTASTIC experience. I couldn't be happier. I had the smoked brisket gyro with fries and fried cabbage. All of which were absolutely PHENOMENAL! Friendly people from the minute I walked through the door until I was finished eating. Little to no wait and the food was hot and fresh. Legitimately a hidden gem of Columbia. If you have one restaurant to choose from for the month and you don't eat here you are making a HUGE mistake. From prices to setting and food quality this place has to be experienced. It's almost too good to be true but I'm telling you it's real.
Good flavored food. Catfish had a good sauce. Brisket gyro was good. Sad they were out of the burnt end ravioli, I was really looking forward to that, guess I'll have to come back.
Today was my first time eating at McLanks. The restaurant was spotless and the staff member who served me provided me with outstanding service. He took the time to ensure my dining experience was an enjoyable one. I ordered the chicken and dumplings and it was delicious. I will definitely be returning.
