Bad Juju Juice Bar

I came in today for lunch and a juice. This was my first visit. The reception was very welcoming, the staff member helpful, and the ambiance is great. The layout is friendly, the decor is artistic, and it totally feels like a cool spot from Denver. It's sort of unassuming and weird and great. The bright yellow couches sit on faux grass mats, and stickers of bananas and Polaroid pictures adorn the walls. The music was good. I opted for vegan food and ordered soyrizo potato tacos with saffron rice. If you buy food, the fresh juice is discounted, so I added a kale, beet, carrot concoction. The tacos themselves were great. Good balance of flavor, enough avocado, nice and oily, and the tortillas were prepared perfectly. A splash of the included lime and they were some of the best tacos in town. They were maybe a hair mild, but there's a garnish station by the register if you want to augment them. The saffron rice was sticky rice with carrots and peppers, and everything was cooked together, making it all rather mushy and homogenous. It also wasn't heavily seasoned like more traditional saffron rice, so overall I thought it fell flat. I'd love to see the ingredients cooked separately, a little more turmeric, garlic, and cardamom pods in the rice, and I'd happily pay extra to have basmati or Jasmine rice. The juice was good, as fresh juice usually is. There were plenty of good-sounding options. Everything was affordable. They gave me a spiel about local, non-gmo, organic, yada yada, so it's going to be a *hair more expensive than if they used more affordable ingredients, but I still stand that it's a pretty wallet-conscientious place to eat. I'll definitely be stopping by here regularly.
