Eileen. I have now shopped every place that makes strudel, from east to west and there is none better than Lydia's. They take great pride in their bakery, especially their strudel. I usually get frozen because when I get there I just go crazy buying with the selections they have. By far, they are the BEST in the greater Cleveland area. I truly admire what they do. Try them, you'll love it; but don't wait too long especially around all the holidays.
Best struedel. Her apple filling is substantial, flavorful. The traditional cheese (not cream sheese) is very "authentic" and delicious. I buy frozen and bake at home - it comes out perfect every time. Wondeful people who care about the food they prepare.
My Mom recommended Lydia’s for their strudel and said it’s the best in the area, she was right! We also tried a variety of the butter horns and they were all delicious. I haven’t had a poppyseed pastry in over 20 years and it brought back so many wonderful memories. Thank you Lydia’s for making us feel so welcome in your bakery from the moment we walked in and for the delicious baked goods that awaken such fond family memories too!
November 2021: Lydia's Hungarian Strudel Shop is a family owned, family run business with a proud tradition of hand crafted strudels and baked goods. Upon entering, you are greeted with a fresh, fruity aroma of apples being peeled by the elderly women in the back. Soon after, you are greeted by the family who will give you a grand tour of their offerings.
I've been here twice already and I love their cherry strudels and apple strudels. The flaky crust is delicious and almost melts in your mouth with tantalizing flavor.
The unique baklava rolls are tasty as well and are probably some of the best that I've tried. Not too syrupy or too sweet, but just right to compliment the tender flaky layers.
Round 2 (Feb 2022) stopped throughout a wintery day and purchased a half order of the cherry cheese strudel...amazing taste, because they blend the cream cheese with the cherries. Rating stays at 5/5 ⭐️s

Super friendly staff, both on the phone and in person! It smelled like butter and heaven when I walked in the door, like in a cartoon where you would've floated to the source of a delicious smell led by your nose. Very cute shop and delicious strudel. Highly recommend to anyone!
Always pass this place finally decided to give it a try, the best apple dessert I’ve ever had. Never had strudel before but it was immaculate. Told the lady inside it was my first time here and she made me feel right at home and was so sweet showing me around the different products.
Had the delicious apple and cherry strudel as one of our Thanksgiving desserts. Amazing, particularly the cherry. Will be ordering for Christmas!

Started in the Buckeye Rd area of CLE, and the recipe hasn't changed in over 60 years.
Just found this gem and I am already hooked! I got the raspberry horn and it was DELICIOUS! I used the restroom in the back so I had to walk through the kitchen & I got to see everything. It was legit! Everything is homemade. The kitchen was spotless. I loved that I could see them peeling fresh apples! Everyone there was extremely friendly and hospitable too. I will definitely be coming back.
Best strudel ever! So tasty, flaky and fresh. Staff so friendly. Will never shop for strudel anywhere else…EVER!
Lydia’s is amazing! The butter horns are so good and the staff is very friendly. Ordering ahead of time is a good idea if you want something specific.
I got there close to closing time, so my selection was a little limited, but the suggested Blueberry was Great! Very friendly and warm place! Highly recommended.
