This place has been around for 44 years! I always thought it was an abandoned, shut down restaurant until I noticed the door was open and being the gentleman adventurer that I am, I stuck my head inside. Walking into Yum Yum was like going back in time to some little eatery in China. The waiter is ancient. I mean like he could of been one of Caine's teachers from the tv show, "Kung Fu." he's quick to point out that its take out and cash only. As I wait for my order, I look around a place that was once a proud sit down restaurant but the ravages of time and a deteriorating downtown had abandoned it. And yet Yum Yum abides. A delightful older Asian lady appears with my food and asks me to taste it before she bags it. Who does this? Pleased with the spice level in my shrimp fried rice, I thank her as she places the container in a brown paper bag. This place is a hole in the wall in a good way. You'll feel like your eating in old China here.

WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE...excellent food, wonderful friendly owner [his wife is the cook], and decor that's frozen in time. What a treat...a must do! A truly unique experience.

What can I say... a perfect gem or any foodies looking for an interesting dining experience! I must admit, the place is quite unassuming from the outside...very humble sign, leading you into a dining room from GOD only know which era 🤔 Anyways... the food was the best! The husband and wife duo make the sweetest team! The customer service was amazing! The best part was the ole school ‘fat back’ Television w. Antenna! Its defined worst it! The price was fare. The food was cooked to order! I take everyone here when they come in town!

Awesome authentic food. Taste is totally different from the commercial Chinese hotels. The couple who runs the restaurant are too good and respectful. We enjoy the dining service because the setup and interior takes you back to olden days which we could have never imagined. Had been there twice and both the time we were the only people in the dining area as most of their customers prefer To Go service. But that gave us exclusive feel being the only people while dining. If you like authentic food this is the place! Cheers!

This place is truly a historic place. I'm super glad I (drunkenly) stumbled apon this great Chinese restaurant. The couple that runs the place are extremely nice and eager to help. They've been here over 40 years and it'll be a miracle if they last another 10. As bleak as that seems... Don't hesitate to eat here. I'm glad I did and I'm looking forward to the opportunity of bringing the whole family back here and try some more dishes on the menu. I got the yum yum pork w/ a level 8 on heat.... Damn good. Can't wait to see this place again

The food was good. I got the Yum Yum Ding Dong Chicken. Being able to choose a spice level is nice. The interior of the restaurant reminds me of waking into my grandma's house. There's a lot of old dusty trinkets in cabinets. There was an old TV blasting news at the counter. Overall, it's good authentic Chinese food, not the typical Americanized style. Payment is cash only, there are a few signs inside indicating this.

Just amazing. Walking around noticed the door was open which it never is!! This is a gem the owners are very sweet and welcoming if you are around and the door is open order something! I got the pork noodles and tipped heavily for how awesome the atmosphere is and the best food I've had in a long time. Keep an open mind they most likely don't keep normal hours so if you are lucky enough order some things for later I wish I did.

Sensational food! I had the ding dong shrimp and egg drop soup. By far the best egg drop soup I've ever tasted. As for the shrimp, it was perfectly spicy (when asked on a scale 1-10 I said 6), lots of big pieces of shrimp and an awesome sauce consistency. I was worried the sauce itself would taste very peanut-y but it wasn't-- there were large peanuts mixed throughout. It was perfect. It's a bit pricey, but it's definitely the best Chinese food I've come across, so I'd definitely say it's worth it.

A place frozen outside of time, probably hasn't changed in 40+ years. Must allow time for food, because there's only the elderly couple there, and the food is authentic and prepared after you order. A slice of 1970's Cincinnati, unlike anywhere else. Egg drop soup, egg roll, steak, pork, and shrimp for two: fantastic.

We had Yum Yum for dinner last night. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted and seated by the chef, an older woman. Believe what people say - its like walking into a time warp! In the best way possible! She took us back to the dining area that had all of 5 or 6 tables. The walls are wooden paneled. The chairs are retro. Your placemat is describing year of dog, monkey, horse...etc. the last year described on the mat is 1971. The menus are the originals. They're playing 90.9. In the middle of the dining area is an old space heater. You feel like you're in someones house. We ordered egg rolls, hot and sour soup, ding dong chicken, and aromatic beef. The chefs husband shuffled out our food. He was so sweet, as well. The hot and sour soup was the best we've ever had! Not thick and goopy - definitely fresh with fresh vegetables. Highly recommend. Eggrolls are fresh, too. Crunchy, fried [but not super greasy], delicious with the homemade sweet sauce. The mustard that comes with is yellow mustard. Rice was okay, a little dry, but was a great sponge for aromatic beef sauce. Our entrees were unique with fresh vegetables. The distinct flavor of aromatic beef sauce will stay with me forever! The ding dong chicken was milder, and still had a distinct, deep flavor. The atmosphere really sets this place apart. Please go and enjoy! The couple is so sweet. Dont forget - cash only!
