We tried several dishes and appetizers and enjoyed most of the dishes. The seafood pho soup wasn't to our liking; however, it was only because my sister doesn't enjoy clams and squid. The rest of the food was delicious, and if you like Thai cuisine, I would recommend giving them a try. I especially enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai, as most other places around Cincinnati that serve this dish are too sweet for my liking. At Banh Lao, they have a three level heat system they use: 1 for mild, 2 for medium, and 3 for hot. I got a level 3 and will admit it was a bit hot for me, so I will give level 2 a try next time. While I love spicy food, I don't have the highest threshold for spice. The staff was friendly and the cook even came and asked for our opinion of the food. The restaurant is a bit on the small side, but some of the best places around are. Hope you find this helpful and bon appetite.

I strongly recommend reading this review before planning your visit!!! Service that Shines - 5 Stars: I can't help but commend the impeccable service I experienced during every visit. The staff's friendliness was truly noteworthy and contributed to an enjoyable dining experience. Aesthetically Pleasing Interior: The restaurant's interior exudes a pleasant ambiance, offering a cozy atmosphere that sets the stage for a delightful meal. Delightful Culinary Experience, with Room for Improvement: The culinary journey was mostly a hit - the dishes were undeniably delicious. However, there's a glimmer of potential for even greater flavors to be unlocked. WHY DID I REDUCE A STAR? During a previous visit, I tried the Laab Seen dish, only to be taken aback by an unpleasant odor. Authenticity aside, any dish shouldn't have a malodorous quality. So, be careful what you choose! While most items on the menu were a culinary triumph, my sole qualm was the shortage of pineapple slices in my fried rice. A touch more attention to detail would have elevated this dish to perfection. CONFUSED WHAT TO ORDER? For those embarking on their inaugural visit, feel free to consult my attached receipt photo for guidance. Everything was shared between me and my friend, just like any asians do! Follow me for more!

First time here so we tried several items since it was lunch sizes. I ordered the shrimp pho but got the seafood pho instead. It was still tasty I just picked out what I didn't want. I look forward to trying other items.

The staff is really great and friendly and the place is cute. I didn’t love the food. Everything was a bit too sweet. Our favorite was the fried rice.

We decided to order from here because of Asian Food Week and New Year's Eve. Easy online ordering. Pickup went well - staff were nice and signs are obvious that you cannot eat onsite due to pandemic. Food was great - although we never had Lao food before. A few annoyances: we did not check our order when we left (we try not to because of the pandemic) and one of our items was "wrong." When we phoned, we told staff that they gave us something other than our mango and sticky rice, but staff said we ordered custard and sticky rice. They were correct, but they had written mango and sticky rice on the container. So it turned out fine, but was confusing. However, when we were writing this review, we realized they never gave us the summer rolls we ordered. I would normally say it must be a busy holiday night, but they did not seem busy when we picked up the food. Worth trying again. Went back and got my mango with sticky rice! And it was so sweet and perfect! Sure I tried 4 other dishes that were all good , but the mango with sticky rice was really what I went for.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Banh Lao & Thai Cuisine is an absolute gem! The moment you step inside, you're greeted with the delightful aromas of authentic Thai and Lao dishes. The Tofu Summer Spring Rolls are amazing, offering a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The Fried Rice is a must-try, it's packed with deliciousness in every bite. And the Pad Kee Mao? Oh my, it was so delicious that I couldn't get enough of it! The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, making every visit a memorable experience. If you're a fan of Southeast Asian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Five stars for the fantastic food, warm ambiance, and friendly service.

Laos Cuisine has blown my mind. The Lao Tum Mak Huong (Green Papaya Salad) was so bright and vibrant. The spice and crunchiness of the fruit and cabbage was so yummy. As a pho lover, I had to try Laos Noodle Soup Khao Piak Sen. Listen tapioca noodles are the bees knees. That broth that broth that broth.... These Dynamite Chicken Wings were absolutely DYNO-MITE (in my JJ Evans voice🤣) The sticky sweet sauce perfectly complimented the crunch on the chicken without making it soggy. I am in loveeee. The owner and his niece Jordan provided the most pleasurable customer service experience. Jordan took the time to explain the dishes and helped me navigate foods that were new to my palate. Definitely a 5 🌟 lunch

I did take out. There aren't a lot of places to get vegetarian pho in town and this one is new to me. I really enjoyed it, I liked being able to customize the ingredients and they accommodated my picky eater of a child with ease. He had plain rice noodles.

Diggin’ the savory and spicy food! For appetizers, we ordered spring rolls, egg rolls, and dynamite wings. And for entrees, we added the Yum Nuea (Thai beef salad) and Thai fried rice. Most dishes came out fast and hot. The portions were great. My fave were the wings and salad. Both were juicy good. The wings had a sweet and spicy kick and the beef salad had an intense lemon and spice flavor. Yum 😋 I don’t know much about Laos and Thai food but my fondest memories with friends were eating sticky rice, crispy spicy wings and papaya salad together. It’s the bomb combo! And this place, though different, did bring back some of those memories. I like the mix of mild and zest, sweet and savory, spicy and fermented flavors. I look forward in trying out other dishes.
