Steamed buns, good dogs and even portions make it one of the very best examples of a Coney in the city. Their burgers are huge.. the Big John is a monster of meat and certainly doesn't disappoint. All-in-all this place has great food in a classic diner setting- be aware of the odd hours if you're stopping in 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. Definitely some of the best diner food in the city.
Good Cincinnati style Chili and coneys! I have tried quite a few local Cincinnati chili places and this is one of my top 3 (aside from chains). The chili was meaty and flavorful and the cony was well proportioned, yet the bun was a tad dry.
The reason for 4/5 stars is that it is Cash Only and there is charge for everything including extra packet of crackers (20 cents for 1/2oz... really?) The service was fast and friendly, the location is clean and the food was good!
I have tried all of the original Cincinnati chili restaurants and this is definitely top 3. The chili is fantastic. The 4 way was delicious. The hot dog for the coney tastes a little weird but it's still good.
Great food prepared and served by great people. Old world attention to detail and the quality of the products served. Friendly service and great value for the price. Simple menu of classic food. I really enjoyed this small cafe and will definitely return. Don’t miss the coleslaw!
Dare I say better than Camp Washington Chili? The chili has a distinctive taste and boy is it delicious. Cozy and very welcoming, although cash only. A definite recommendation for any chili lover, new or pro. Will be coming back!
Mom & Pop place. Great sandwiches. Remember, though... It's a cash only. Keeps the overhead -therefore the prices- down. I haven't tried the chili yet, but it seems to be very popular
I am so glad that I was finally able to make it in to this place. The small window of time that this Cincinnati staple is open only adds to its magic. I came here because I wanted to try their chili, so I ordered a three way. The chili was meaty and delicious, and it went well with my iced tea in a styrofoam cup. George and Lily were there (but who else?) and Lily served us. She was very kind and was able to laugh with me because I hadn't realized that this restaurant is cash only, so I had to run to the ATM at the UDF. I will definitely be coming back here for more chili, and their delicious looking sandwich platters.

It's a perfect mom and pop place. Small, great sandwiches. Fantastic chili, and good old fashioned service with a smile.
Cash only. Great spot to catch up with friend over double burgers and cheesy fries. All foods are prepared with care. Service great.
Love their chili. Thicker than most others. The big John is a great Burger as well.
