This place is owned by the same family that owns Shaan in Hyde Park, and so the menu, prices, and experience are very similar between these two places. For example, at Shaan, all chicken dishes are 10% off on Saturdays, so that policy is continued here as well
The buffet is decent - not the best I have ever had but the price is fairly low for this type
I love the sub-motto on their sign - "Curry in a Hurry"
I generally get better food here when I order off the menu rather than the buffet, and you can also better customize your desired spice level this way.
If you are choosing between this place and Royal Taj more or less across the street, I recommend this place as having slightly better food at about the same price
Awesome food, awesome service. Consistently.
Excellent experience. Three of us had dinner here on a Friday night. An informal setting yet comfortable. If you're looking for a fancy, candle-lit romantic setting this is not the place. However, the food is what it's about anyway, Right? VERY attentive & friendly service. All our meals were cooked to perfection and very tasty. Chicken Masala, Shrimp Tandoori (pictured) & Mixed Vegs with Garlic and Spicy Nan bread. Note: The 'heat' range choices are from 1 to 6. I ordered my shrimp Tandoori 'medium' (3.5) and it was quite spicy. My companions said the same about their dishes. OK for us, but would suggest for those who like their food with just a little kick but not hot, go no higher than a 1 or maybe 2. Also, although on some web sites it indicates beer & wine is available they are NOT. However, you can bring your own. Overall a very nice experience and we will return.
I love this place! Everyone is so friendly and the food is always amazing!
Each and Every time. My wife and I order carry out at least bi-weekly. The family owners are very friendly and we have never been disappointed. Yum
Love love love. I have become a loyal fan. Not just because the hostess always makes us feel special, but because the Chicken Pakora is the best! I don't know what the seasoning is they put on top but it is phenomenal. The Saag is well seasoned and excellent texture with plenty of mushrooms and the right amount of spice. The Mulligatawny is hearty and flavorful. The prices are reasonable and the sweet, red, pretzle shaped treats they have at the lunch buffet are a favorite... I drive from Villa Hills, KY to Anderson, OH only for Taj. Love it!

Yes, do go here!!!. This is our 3rd dining experience at Taj, which is a new restaurant. The service has been very good and friendly. The food is served hot and to your desired level of "spiciness/heat". The food is also very tasty. The dishes taste differently...I have been at some Indian establishments where the entrees all taste the same.
I wil return. You can bring your own beer or wine...a very nice thing indeed.
[The restaurant is a couple storefronts from "Orange Leaf" yogurt place in the Anderson shopping complex. Have your dinner and then hit the yogurt place! :) ]
Better than some.... We were hoping to find an Indian place a little closer to home that could compare to the taste of Baba India. While the food at Taj is pretty good, it wasn't what we've become accustomed to. My Saag Paneer had very few paneer cubes, and those it did have were smaller and more dense than what I have come to enjoy. The spice level was weak. I got a 5 out of 6, which is what I usually get, but there wasn't any real substantial heat to it. My husband had chicken curry, level 6, and it was more like a Baba level 4. His sauce was thicker and more tomato-y than he likes.
We think we'll continue to brave the Oakley traffic to go to Baba India.
Good Things Come In Small Packages. This place is probably the smallest restaurant I've ever been to but it is good! Everything is really fresh and well prepared. Their focus is carry-out but they have a few tables for those who enjoy a restaurant experience. If you like Indian cuisine, you will like Taj India!
Absolutely one of my favorite places to go eat at.
I drive maybe 30 to 35 minutes to come here and eat. I take every excuse I can to come here, and I drag a lot of my friends with me here. Over the past four or five years, it's always been very good and I never have had a problem here. Whether it be carry out or dine in, the food has always been great and I have taken it into work with me the following morning to even eat.
I absolutely love getting food here, I'm hoping they can make it even spicier because it is a challenge to see how spicy I can do.
Awesome food! I can't say enough good things about this place. Most tender, delicious lamb, naan bread was amazing, spiced to perfection (I asked for a 2 out of 6 spicy, perfect). And a good sized portion to top it off (I had enough to take some home), especially if you get some naan breadI don't see how anyone gave this place a bad review. I'll be back, thanks again 👍🙏🔥.
The weeknight we visited was a slow night. The restaurant was clean and quiet. The pleasant aroma of cookng spices greeted us when we entered. We were met and seated right away. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The food was served quickly and delicious. Most of the menu names I am not familiar with. But I am excited to return and try more dishes.
I liked the food, it was delicious. I'm visiting from VA and was craving some Indian food. The portion was just enough for my appetite. I recommend you give it a try if you want some good Indian food.
Food was good no complaints! Awesome vegetarian options! The customer service was okay despite being the only people in restaurant they took awhile to get our order, drinks etc. but I do recommend it
My wife and I love Indian food. Taj Indian is the best 👌. We just finished lunch and the chicken Tika Masala was great. Also the mushroom sang was also perfect.
I spoke to a gentleman about how much I love spicy food and they hooked it up! I had the lamb vindaloo. The Tikka Misala is a favorite of ours too. This is one of our go-to restaurants.
The food was amazing. My friend works there and his name is Niraj. Awesome and hard worker.
Ordered Paneer Makhani, Saag Choley, Samosa, and Paneer Bhatura for pickup tonight and it was all delicious!
This is the best Indian food that I have had since moving to Cincinnati. Would eat there atleast twice a week. I have tried 4 other similar places in the area to compare. None even came close to the quality you get here. All the people who work here are amazing. Love you guys. ❤
