"Come and enjoy our special Asian dishes at affordable prices in an elegant surrounding. No need to tip," says the About Us section of Cafe Orient 33's website. They really aren't kidding about their strong aversion to tipping. When you pay by credit card at the restaurant there isn't even a tip line on the receipt they ask you to sign. Tipping is not really a custom in South Korea (where I believe the owners are from) and Japan, and these owners have shunned the practice entirely. Do they make up for it by charging higher prices on their menu? No, they do not. In fact, prices for their main courses are embarrassingly low and range from $5.50 to $8. Ok, so there's no tipping and meals go for a pittance. It can't possibly be good food, right? Negatory, my friend. Cafe Orient 33 is the real deal and probably one of the best values for Asian food in town.
Excellent food, friendly service and surprisingly inexpensive. Try this place, you won't be sorry!
Amazing Spicy Korean chicken! Some of the best wings I've ever had. Plus the lady who owns it is super sweet and always looking to please. They're unique as well with their unwillingness to accept tips. Their food speaks for itself. One of my new favorite places
