The second you walk in it feels like everyone working is a family! It’s a small cozy restaurant but that doesn’t stop people from coming in with their family as well. Everyone was very kind and attentive. On top of this, the food was delicious! They really pack on the meat with each plate and you’ll definitely leave with leftovers once you’re done. Go try it for yourself!
I came in for fried pork, pooled pork and some rice. I had to wait for my order a bit longer than I expected, but the wait was so worth it. The drive home was an event given the aroma and that I could almost taste it as I drove home. Will definitely return, but will order in advance to save some time.
Loved it here! Food is fantastic. I’ve had food in PR, and Jibaritos on Harlem is authentic, flavorful, delicious, and comforting. Staff is very, very friendly. Waiter brought us 2 empanadillas - ground beef and chicken w/cheese, and papas rellenas to try while our food cooked. I ended up ordering the empanadillas to go and my meal was a Jibarito de bistec encebollado with arroz con habichuelas (rice and beans). The steak was tender and flavorful. My friends and I drove from the south suburbs and it’s worth the drive. I’m coming back!
I can't understand the complaint about the gratuity tip added to the bill. The staff is working very hard, hundreds of people a day, not to mention the city of Chicago property taxes and all of that! So whoever was complaining in the reviews should be more understanding HELLO.
The food is delicious. Sometimes the wait is longer but it's completely understandable, it's a popular place for a reason. I really loved the pastelitos y arroz. The food is 🔥🔥🔥. They should start serving coquito rum for us who are 21+ because that's really traditionally Puerto Rican and delicious. Coquito not on their menu though.
I don't know who the tatted waiter was, but wow they hired a handsome guapo guy. Come to Jibaritos if you're proud to be Puerto Rican and Puerto Rican food is life. Even if you're not Puerto Rican, come enjoy the food and I promise you will want to come back.

We are Mexican but love PR food! We live in the far north suburbs, and we're craving PR food.we happened to be in Chicago. I found them on Google and stopped in. We knew by the number of people coming and going, it was gonna be good. Small, CLEAN, and TRENDY location. FAST and FRIENDLY service and the "server" made patient and delicious recommendations! We tasted almost everything!
Nice place to visit for some pasteles. I used to go there for carry out only. By I’ve been there for dine in a couple times. It gets pretty busy at times
