The food is delicious! Cafe Tola has great flavors for their empanadas. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area and want a quick and filling meal! I would recommend 2 empanadas for a filling meal. Don't forget their lavender lemonade!

I love this place and I'm literally having Cafe Tola withdrawal symptoms! I used to stop for an empanada and coffee for breakfast, head to a meeting and then stop for tacos for lunch. Literally the a thoughtful and deliciously curated menu of some of the best food around. I now drive out of my way to get some!

Cutest little spot and the empanadas do not skimp out on filling. They actually have heat to them too! The guy behind the counter was so upbeat and the space itself is adorable.

What an awesome place. Plenty of veggie/vegan options. The workers were so awesome and just made our day!

Tried this place on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve had empanadas but these were extraordinary! The prepared one were limited but got to try Mexican Egg, Spicy Red Pork, Chicken Mole, but my favorite was the Spicy Green Pork one. Gonna seek out the other locations and the food truck for more good eats!

I got the chicken buffalo empanadas and a lavender lemonade. The empanadas were fantastic. The meat wasn’t dry, it was well seasoned, and they do not skimp on the filling. The lemonade was ok, not sure I’d get it again. The inside was cramped, but they had cute outdoor seating that was great for groups of 4 or less

Fantastic empanadas. They were a hit with our group, and the coffee was good too.

This place was awesome!! We stopped by for a quick bite. The empanadas were so good! I loved the pinto and the green pork. The chicken mole was also pretty good. They serve dark matter coffee. I had a spicy lemonade that wasn’t too sweet and very refreshing. Angelina working behind the counter was friendly! We will return soon.

I tried this place randomly with a friend and I was blown away by how good the empanadas and coffee were. I got the molé empanada and it was really fresh and big. The horchata latte was also fantastic.

Undoubtedly good and fresh empanadas with super delicious flavors! My only complaint is they are $6 each… quite pricey for a usually cheap food.

so there I was: me, a simple suburbs lad, lost and confused at some bar in the city. we were at our third stop on our bar crawl. I had shown up late and missed dinner. I was tipsy, mildly scared, and hungry. it was getting later and later into the evening and I was worried that nowhere would have a kitchen open this late into the evening. luckily, this bar had a Cafe Tola empanada stand. at first, I was hesitant... surely anything served in this fancy Logan Square bar would be way overpriced, hoping to pick on less frugal, hungrier patrons for an easy buck. my will was not as strong as my stomach though, and after half an hour, I caved in, shuffling to the stand to check out the menu. to my surprise, they actually had a good vegetarian option, and the empanada was a pretty good size as well! For food served from a truck in a bar it was very satisfying, and I'd definitely like to visit a real Cafe Tola the next time I'm in the city!

Probs top 5 places in all of Chicago! Happy staff. A great cult following! Empanadas with some Mexican cuisine. …over the years it feels like they put less meat and more filler… but they still have my heart!
