Stopped in to grab some Chicago Dogs and a cheeseburger. Food was fresh and great. Service was also promt and courteous.
If you're looking for a no-frills place to eat in Chicago where the locals can enjoy a Chicago Dog, Mister J's is often recommended. It's sort of a hole in a wall place serving excellent iconic meals indigenous to the Windy City! Could use a renovation, but that is where the charm is! This place been here for a while. Good Chicago dogs, fries and burgers. Staff knows what they are doing so the food comes out fast.
Prices are reasonable for Gold Coast.

My first Chicago style hotdog and it’s good. Now this place looks like a hole in the wall and it probably is, but you know the food is good. I went in the summer on a Saturday late night and just had two dogs and boy where they good.

Food-the Chicago dog is an iconic hot dog here. It has everything you would want and expect and they do well with it! They have a giant menu here and I’d be curious to try the other stuff.

The food was very good here! Although most orders were carry outs, our party of 6 dined in. The food was reasonably priced, especially for Downtown Chicago. We had gyros specials, hot dogs, and Burgers. They were very generous with fries. Can’t wait to go back. The place was very clean and organized.

We loved walking by this gem in the downtown/Mag Mile area. We were looking for some Chicago Style Hot Dogs and lots of places were closed on Easter Sunday. When we walked up, there was already a local customer waiting outside for the store to be opened up. He told us he has been coming to this place for 30 years. Once the restaurant opened we were greeted with a friendly smile and picked two Chicago favorites. The Polish and Italian sausage. Those Hot Dogs were just simply amazing and the price is very reasonable compared to restaurants in the area. Next time, when you visit Chicago, don’t overlook this small locally owned spot that’s been open for over 70 years.
