This breakfast diner was beyond exceptional. No amount of stars can express how much I enjoyed my experience here. First of all, Patty, whom I thought was the owner based on her being so welcoming and friendly, made my experience even more memorable! The food and coffee was fantastic! The prices are unbeatable! The atmosphere was cozy and interesting as well (it has numerous vintage photographs on the walls). Chicago was my first stop on a two week trip and it was my first time being in Illinois. As someone that didn’t know the area, I simply looked up breakfast places after waking up from my one night stay and winged it. Exceeded my expectations. I even wished I had cash on me because everyone that works there deserves a tip! I will be back whenever I get the chance to be in Chicago again. Thanks, Johnnie’s!
Great place. Good atmosphere. Old skool with very nice owners. Classic neighborhood place. I'd rather eat here than Au Cheval next door
Sometimes you simply want a great omlette, skillet, or classic breakfast. This place is around the corner from the "hip and new" places on Randolph st. but will have no line, lovely service, and a homey diner atmosphere.

Fantastic!! Old time place , adorned with local photos. Great ambiance. Phenomenal , friendly service, excellently prepared breakfast and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
Great design like back to 50’s when I was a kid, and with the nice friendly lady like my grandma. Feel warm at home.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff; shout-out Patty. Food was not unique, just your typical diner food - but they've perfected it. Would recommend to anyone who's craving classic American diner food, you really can't get much better than this.
We had such a great breakfast here! We had a large group (of eight) and were seated and served in a very timely manner. The food was excellent as was the service. The friendliness of the servers was so wonderful. I can't wait to go back!
The food is yummy. The pancakes are the best. I felt like having breakfast at my parents home. It has a family friendly environment. The photos on the walls are the best. The service is excellent. The best diner in the town!
I came in around 7:25 and was seated for breakfast. It has a great location and reasonable prices. The food was very tasty and I see why it was recommended by a friend. However, I did not receive my food until 30 minutes later. There were only 6 tables currently eating. The server was very friendly, so it is not her fault. I noticed other tables were waiting very long for food, as well. I am thankful I did not have anywhere to be right after eating. That being said, the food was very delicious and the fruit was fresh. I will be back when I am not in a rush, or may call ahead.
Stopped by after our flight, had a hearty meal!
