Talk about authenticity! This place is ozzing with Bosnian flair. The owner was such a nice guy. He is the one that served me and explained the components of the dishes while giving me a historical lesson about the ex Yugoslavia countries. I had the mixed dish and chorba. Loved both of them. I would however keep away from the grilled chicken since it lacked in flavor. The jaymak and the homemade bread were the definite winners for me.
Incredibly hospitable owners who are very friendly and accommodating. The food is authentic! When my friends from the Balkans visit me, we always stop in and they feel very at home. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to eat some delicious homecooking.
A very friendly welcoming place. All personnel were accommodating and helpful. We had really nice conversation with the owner Enes and his son.
Everything was handled with efficiency and attention to every detail was given. Food was delicious and the view was wonderful while dining.
And the best part was the coffee! Don't miss that.
Thanks for doing such an outstanding job to make the stay so pleasurable.
What an amazing experience. I have had meals in hundreds of restaurants in this city, and this might be one of the few times I've ever been motivated to write a review. The owner greeted us at the door with a smile and an invitation. I just so happened to pass him on the street a few minutes earlier, and he smiled at me, having no idea I was a prospective customer. He was a genuinely wonderful person, something you don't find in a lot of restaurant owners these days.
The owner was serving all the tables himself. If you're expecting perfect, attentive service, a person to wait on your every need, don't come here. This man, his wife, and daughter, run this business, and the fact that you might have to wait an extra minute or two for your water, or your BYOB wine to be opened, should be lost because of the fact that the person who is attending to you is working his butt off to make sure you have a wonderful experience. He might not be able to wait on your every need and request, but the personal touch FAR FAR FAR outweighs this.
If you truly want to enjoy this experience, please interact with to owner and employees. He/they are wonderful people, and my date and I spent at least an extra hour there lingering and ordering more items just to interact with them some more.
I haven't even gotten to the food yet, which is amazing. I am no connoisseur of of Bosnian food, but I could tell that this was well prepared food. No matter what you order, from the Cold Appetizer Plate, to the free bread and "poison": (aka perfectly spiced olive oil with homemade bread), it was all wonderful. And dear god, you have to try the coffee. I've had coffee from just about every coffee shop and this city, and this coffee tops the list. Buyer beware though, as the owner perfectly put "hope you have a good book for tonight" as it is a vintage eastern European/middle east coffee, incredibly caffeinated but perfectly flavored.
I will gladly bring any person willing to go out to eat with me to this place. It is honestly, one of the best dining experiences I've had in this city. Please give this place a shot, even if Bosnian cuisine isn't on your radar. The experience is worth is in and of itself.
This place is incredible...wait till you try the bread, I was sold from there. It is far from where I live and well worth the drive. The owners are so nice, mom cooks while dad cracks jokes and makes good conversation. I will be going back many times...oh yeah and the prices are cheap for top quality unique fresh food. Five stars all day.
We had a large order pickup for a gathering at our house with more excellent food provided than expected. The owner even lent us chafing dishes. The fish, sausages and bread were especially good.
Really great service, and food, food is from another world, I would recommend this restaurant to everyone... Hvala Banjaluka
After having lived in Sarajevo for a good length of time, I missed it dearly when I moved back to Chicago. I received my long needed Bosnian food fix while visiting here. There was great food and friendly service. Some of the traditional cultural feel was missing in atmosphere and service. I only wish they were playing some Bosnian folk music, maybe some Dino Merlin :) That would have completed some of the atmosphere for me.
Very excellent experience. Friendly staff and a very funny owner that came several times to entertain and socialize with our group. Food was very good and filling. Highly recommend sticking around after the main course for unique desert options and Turkish coffee!
Food is good. Service was great. Owner Was maybe trying to be polite but doesn’t understand privacy and will hang out at your table. Owner should let his workers do their job and not breathe in everyones necks all the time.
