It's always great to try local places in towns that you visit. There beer was good even though they were out of a lot (said they were getting their shipment today). They had a good Groupon 2-4 beer flights and a growler filled with beer of choice for $30. Nice atmosphere open rustic feel with a lot of tables, big bar and patio seating. The food menu looked good but we just came for the beer, Dusk & Perk were some of our favorites. They have a lot of sours and even though we aren't huge sour fans we still tried some.
A wonderful range of beers and food. We had the flyers which enabled us to sample multiple drinks, which were of reasonable size. The food was good and the staff were able to cater for our dietary needs too.
Came to this pizzeria with my father who was visiting from Florida. I'm definitely going to be coming back here with my girlfriend, and we live up on the North Side! The pizza was phenomenal. The beer was even better! We also got a salad and the crispy cauliflower appetizer which was 💯
Highly recommend Jolly Pumpkin to anyone who lives in Chicago! You won't be disappointed!
I went on opening day and while they still have some kinks to work out I loved the pizza with mushrooms & truffles. I look forward to digging into the beer selection as well. It's a nice looking place inside with booths, counter seating and big communal benches in the middle. I suspect this place will get busy quickly.
I ordered from here off of Door dash, my fries weren’t hot but that wasn’t the fault of the restaurant although to prevent it they could try foil wrap around to-go dishes or only go with delivery services who use insulation bags. Everything was delicious! 🤤 I was craving a burger 🍔 and 🍟 and it hit the spot.
Great interior and outdoor patio spaces. I did not try the beer, the cocktail I had was just OK. Service was great and food looked delicious. Lots of TVs showing a variety of sporting events including Le Tour de France when I was there. Would recommend as a date night spot or a family friendly meal.

Notes: As a lover of the new york slice, I respect their puffy pizza. Damn good caesar salad too.
I’ve been a Jolly Pumpkin beer fan for years, so I was pumped when they came to the neighborhood. If you don’t know their beers, they’re funky, they’re sour, their creative. But don’t worry... if that’s not your thing, they have North Peak beers with your pale ales, IPAs, stouts, etc.
I love having these world class beers in Hyde Park. Prices are good ($6-$8) and the staff is friendly. The food is upscale pub food. Some find it a little pricey. I agree. It’s on the expensive side, but the pizzas and sandwiches I’ve had a good. I’m more likely to come for the drinks than the food. The biggest downside is the service situation - you gotta order at the register (unless you’re sitting at the bar). Inconvenient at times? Sure. But the line usually moves quick and it’s only a mild inconvenience. And I’ll stand in line any day to have access 10-12 Jolly Pumpkin beers (seasonal and rotating taps all year long) on tap any day. And you can buy bottles to go 👍🏼
EDIT: Went 2/2/19 and they now have table service. A welcomed change. And they have a whole new food menu.
There was a great atmosphere and very creatively designed beer labels, this restaurant clearly has a lot of character.
Great atmospher, friendly staff. I had the truffle fries but couldn't taste the truffle oil, everything else was wonderful!
