Such a nice restaurant! We had been looking for food and found this spot for dinner- the service was so hospitable they even let us in and served us 20 minutes before it even opened! The food was delicious, my favorite being the “The Speck” with prosciutto and arugula. Very nice area too
I was very impressed with this restaurant! The food came out very quick and I was able to modify the pizzas to make them vegetarian. The spicy one is VERY good!! The calzone is gigantic and tastes really good! Highly recommend this for pizza

This restaurant is great, all I ordered was the beef carpaccio and it was great. I appreciated the friendly staff and great service. The atmosphere is on point and it fits the theme of the place. The only thing is that I would have ordered a pizza but they only offer 14”-15” pizzas.
In the heart of the De Paul campus and with a name like "The Crust", you know what it is all about. Great traditional Italian style pizza overall. Imported ingredients, soft, chew, crisp all in one crust, simple fresh ingrdients with as little dough as possible. This is what traditional Italian pizza is all about, don't over do it!
I am not sure if the price tag is for everyone but I don't I'll come back for more.
Wonderful dining experience. I went with my Dad and sat in the outdoor dining area. All the pizza options looked delicious, but we ended up ordering the four cheese with a Caesar salad and some sparkling water. The wood-fired pizza was absolutely delicious, and everything combined was only around $50 dollars. Good food + good environment + not too expensive.
The service was spectacular even when they had to deal with a know-it-all dope like me. I spoke with the owner, Dino, who couldn't have been more patient and kind with me. Best of all, THE FOOD!! I ordered a Pepperoni Pizza and Caesar Salad. The food was ready in 10 minutes. The pizza was amazing..All the tastes, the pepperoni, sauce, and crust made for my new favorite thin crust pizza. Salads were delicious too. Sorry guys, you'll have to deal with this knucklehead again!
First off I am a huge pizza fan and eat pizza like it won’t be here tomorrow. I have been a Chicago real estate broker for over 16 years and I’ve lived in the city for over21 years and I’ve eaten at lot of pizza restaurants. La Crosta is one of the best wood fired pizzas I’ve had in the city. It’s located in Lincoln Park and only a walk 30 minute walk from Old Town just to get there. The service is also amazing and Dino who runs the place is always making sure everyone is having a good time. As a sidenote, they do half-price wine bottles on Wednesdays. I was just there last night. Go enjoy it!
Both pizzas were made hot and fresh, however the middle of both pizzas were pretty soaked, so the toppings would fall off as you pull it apart. The individual ingredients were great, but I may not get the carne again, as the toppings overpower the pizza itself. Total for 3 14in pizzas, 1 salad, 1 coke came to be $106, which was pretty high in my opinion.
Walked inside with some family at 5pm on a Sunday, and the inside was very empty and clean. The waiter was extremely helpful and asked if it was our first time. We ordered the Classico pepperoni and due carne which came about 20 min after.
Classic pepperoni (5/5):
Best pizza on the menu. The pepperoni exploded with flavor and was a little spicy. The sauce tasted fresh and acidic, since it was crushed tomatoes.
Duo carne (3/5):
Italian sausage had a mild flavor, but was pretty dry and over cooked. The spicy soppressata (Italian salami) had some kick to it.
The Cesar salad was good, a pretty good portion. The dressing was not a creamy Cesar, but more of a clear kind, almost resembling Italian/Greek dressing.
Food was SO good. Everything that I ate was amazing.
10/10 would recommend
Classic Italian style pizza made in a wood fire grill, with fresh dough , tomatoes , and burrata. Lots of imported ingredients flown straight from Italy . What's not to love?
