I love this place, the staff here are very nice and polite, it's a very fancy place and it's very artsy, the calzone is amazing and to die for!!!!! I recommend this place!!!!!!
The Monasteros, Joe, Salvie and Gina were my mother's cousins and have been family to us for many years. I remember enjoying pizza at their first little pizza place, LaCanopy. It's still one of my favorite pizzas! Their love of food and family definitely added to their many successes as entrepreneurs and heads of their beautiful families. It's hard to realize that Monastero's will no longer be there serving their wonderful food and welcoming all who dine there as "family". We wish the family the very best in their future endeavors and whisper "addio" to Joe, Martha, Elizabeth and their beautiful children. They will be missed!
The food here is delicious and fresh. The staff and owners are warm and knowledgeable. When my child got wiggly they were helpful. When a couple arrived for their anniversary the staff clearly knew them and welcomed them warmly. There were regulars as well as families. In addition, there was a pianist who was wonderful. Thanks for making date night with my child so wonderful!
Absolutely amazing place. The food is authentic and delicious. Came here for a friend's wedding and felt like I had found a hidden gem. My only regret is not learning about it sooner!
The mandatory valet parking was a bit of a hassle for someone not used to such formalities, but the staff was fast and pleasant to interact with.
If I lived closer I would definitely be a regular here. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and would recommend this place to anybody in the area.
If you are looking at Monastero's to host your wedding ceremony/reception, look no further. We had the privilege of having our wedding (ceremony and reception) at Monastero's -- and they helped us making our wedding vision and dreams come true (at an AMAZING price-point, nonetheless!)
Maria is incredible -- she worked with our budget and exceeded our expectations. Her attention to detail and kind heart made the wedding planning process so much easier (and enjoyable!) for us. We truly feel blessed to have been able to work with her!
Our guests continue to rave about the food -- from appetizers to main courses, drinks to cake -- everyone loved it! I am certain nobody left hungry! The staff at Monastero's were consistently kind, thoughtful and attentive (especially Martin!)

Best meat sauce I've ever had on spaghetti!
I was reluctant to try it because I wanted something filling and I have at least four stomachs for all pasta, but I was full and perfectly satisfied overall.
Not only did we get the full Italian experience including dessert and coffee (which blew my mind how perfect the combination is after a great meal) but we were audience to a beautiful operatic song sung by one of the owners.
Classic Italian/Sicilian restaurant. Great service. Tasty, filling entrees in generous portions. I love the thick minestrone soup and the tiramisu. Great pizza, too. We had our wedding reception in one of their banquet halls. I will miss them after they close on November 18, 2017.
Old school family Italian restaurant, this place is delightful. Classy and elegant this place never disappoints. There's most always live music...singer and piano. The food is delicious and fairly expensive, but so worth eating here. Perfect place to take a date for an intimate evening.
This place is really good! I felt like the service could have been a bit better (somehow less intrusive and more responsive). But, that being said some of the food here is amazing! Good, quality food that definitely tastes home made!
We just had our engagement party here in the garden room, and it was truly was amazing. Being in the service industry, everyone always is quick to say when something isn't right. But everything was beyond right with Monastero's. Penny did everything in her power to make sure everything was perfect. We had around 68 people on a Saturday night. Everyone loved the food, apps, and the beautiful cake. Penny and her staff make everyone feel like they are family! The staff is VERY kind and understanding. Im sure if you didn't like something they would FIND away to fix it asap. Penny helped us make the menu to please our very Italian family. The pasta mama mia was a huge hit. If you want a place thats not only beautiful but with great food, Monastero's is your place.
The spaghetti and meat ragu, meat ball and sausage were just perfect. Mom loved her Eggplant parmigiana, and Maria, owner's daughter and operator was beyond welcoming, warm and full cheer.
The decor within is very historic. Maria was very happy to tell us about it.
Love those coats of arms on the walls.
Rustic, friendly service, traditional Sicilian/Italian dishes. Can't ask for more.

Monastero's is AMAZING-period! It is the quintessential family owned, beautiful Italian restaurant. Every person from the valet to the owners makes you feel welcome and part of their family.
We have been going to Monastero's for many years, we loved it so much that we got married there in 1999 and now our oldest daughter is having her Bat Mitzvah party there. Maria is so accommodating, so kind and treats us like one of her own. You know that you are getting something special with her:)
We love, love, love the food especially the
Arancine for appetizers, the Mezzi Rigatoni Mamma Maria for dinner is to die for and anything for dessert!!! It's always the right and best place to go for dinner or a family celebration! My 2 other children will be having their Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration there as well--my 11 year old son tells everyone he will be getting married there too!
