We loved vermilion! I would definitely recommend it to friends. Best meal in a long time. Service was perfect. Our waiter, Candace made it even more memorable with her easy & personable style. Can't wait to get back to Chicago. It will be on our list of must-do's!
Awesome food. Must try. Love their presentation style
This is a sort of hidden gem indian restaurant. From outside does not bring much vibes, but interior is seemingly fresh. Food taste good. For an Indian guy the food is completely on milder side though the dishes I tried says medium to high spice. Food presentation is unique and charming. Food is on an expensive end. The music is surprisingly not outdated (another reason to enjoy "Bollywood Item Number"). Please do not try Pani Puri Margarita. It looks good but taste really bad. Not a good cocktail. The day I visited restaurant it was only myself and no one else. Later few guests joined but I wonder why restaurant was so empty. Seemingly they closed on Friday due to kitchen related upgrades they working on. Overall it seems owner and chef are in this business just for their passion to serve good food. Cheers!
We had a great time here. The food was delicious and really brought together the cuisines in a fun way. We ordered the Ancient Wisdom, Crazy Hot Asians, and the Squid Games. I forgot to get a photo of the Crazy Hot Asians soup. The servers were all nice too!
Celebrated a friend’s birthday here and had an amazing experience! The food and cocktails are creative, interesting, and delicious - so nice to see a restaurant that puts a lot of thought into what they serve and deliver great quality. (I got the “What’s Your Beef? and it was yummy and a huge portion!
Additionally, the staff was so helpful, kind, and welcoming. Overall, highly recommend Vermillion for the delicious Indo-Chinese cuisine and excellent service.
Loved the ambience and the service!I ordered Pani puri cooler for the drink which was sweet and sour! For food, we ordered Kolkata streets chat, crazy hot Asians soup, Hakka Chow-Mein. The food was good and flavorful. They even gave us complimentary dessert! Overall It was a nice experience :)
Super playful menu! The masala fries were really seasoned fries and have no place on the menu. The lamb and paneer dishes tasted too similar. Lamb was cooked perfectly though. Paneer was a bit hammered. Fried rice was delicious. Kolkata chaat was also very good, nice heat. THE WINNER was the “Sex” dessert 🙌🏼 Saffron pulls this playful Indian fried ice cream together. The cocktail game is 🔥. Pani puri margarita and Bollywood Item Number are must haves.
Nice location. Clean and quiet with good service. The mango mojito was lovely and the spicy beef were good. The noodles with the beef were Very tamarind flavored so be forewarned. Too much for my tastes personally, but the vegetables and beef part of the dish were good. A bit pricy for value with a pre-added tip (I got great service so I am not upset; I just think it’s strange for any size group starting at one person).
We loved the indian-latin-chinese fusion menu and creative cocktail drinks at Vermillion. Service was very quick and food was delicious. Don't miss out to try masala fries and Kolkata street in appetizers and keep some room for shahi tukra in deserts.
This meal was exquisite! The service and atmosphere were exactly what they needed to be: it was all about creating room to enjoy a fantastic dinner. The flavors of the dishes were fabulous; in your face, but also well-balanced, especially with the textures. Every bite was honestly just a celebration of the plate it stemmed from. You can tell the chef and her team know exactly the food they want to create and stand by it. My stand outs (if I had to pick) were the Kolkata Streets cool plate and the Manchurian Candidate main dish. But don't skip out on the chai coconut ice cream for dessert either (it's a Collab with Pretty Cool Ice Cream).
The ambiance lured us in right away with the indoor firepit and the soft lights over the bar. I absolutely enjoyed the quiet setting and the incredible flavors of the food. Not to mention the executive chef personally delivered the food and made sure that we were satisfied with our choice.
Our bartender made sure to make us the best martinis in town. Loved the experience!
We will definitely be coming back!
So been always wanting to try this indo-Latin fusion place but heard such bad reviews so it was at the bottom of the list. Now it’s indo-Chinese and still heard mix reviews but whatever will try it myself and it was NOT disappointing! The service was great. The food was very tasty. We tried the not your KFC and the taste and texture were good. A little on the spicy end but then again that’s what we are looking for for this type of cuisine. Also tried the Kolkata streets and had the masala fries on the house! The fries were nicely spiced and crispy. For entrees we tried the what’s your beef and the haka masterpiece. The beef was tasty and not too chewy. The noodles were a little sweet. We were too full for desert but they gave us a little desert on the house so how nice! Anyways this was a great experience and surprised about the poor reviews. Fav drink was my drink, my choice
The table we sat at was very dark and the side of mad masala rice came out late. Those are the only critiques i would make.
