I was passing by and decided to try Gyy-Kaku Japanese BBQ. I had not made a reservation, but they were able to accommodate me. Thank you 😊.
I had fried calamari, fried pork dumplings, grilled some beef and pork belly myself with white rice and Napa Kimchi 🤤. Yummy!
I won't forget the hot sake 💃🏼
Until next time 💞
Omg, the most delicious thing I've had in my mouth in awhile 😋 lol. I love the set up and atmosphere. I thought us cooking at the table would throw me off but it was a lovely experience and the meat was delicious. Will definitely be going back.
The lava cake was crazy good and it had such a perfect ice cream ball. The cheese corn is also very good, it was very unique and flavorful. Very buttery as well. I would definitely recommend getting those and coming here. Yummy
This was second time at this restaurant, the first time at this location in the West Loop. We were a party of ten and they accommodated us promptly at our reservation time. The food is very good and our server was great. The menu is full of interesting choices. It’s fun to sit back and watch your family cook their food on the table-top grills. They even have s’mores for dessert. Nice place to celebrate an event.
Went here for friend’s birthday lunch. Everything was good. We even got the happy hour special. Four people. Bill was under $200 including tips. Still one of the best Japanese BBQ I been to. Only thing not so good is finding parking sometimes.
I really enjoyed this place, its a new experience and really fun to get to grill your own food. The meat quality is good and the service was amazing they are very helpful and explained everything in details. Their lava cake was 10/10, loved it! Overall its a fun experience but if i was hungry it wouldn't be my first choice.
Perfect dinner date. All you can eat Japanese BBQ, What more can you ask for?
This was my first time going to this style of restaurant. The food was good except for the wontons.
The service, the decor, the quality all remind me what I had back in Japan.
HOWEVER, there were still some dishes may make you frown. The fried chicken was not juicy as what I expected, the coating was more than actual meat. The sushi... If you don't know how to make one, just don't pretended that you know how to... the rice just fell apart even I picked it up with my hands.... But back to BBQ itself, it's amazing. And the udon, you will be surprise how good that is!
I went for the lunch because their lunch menu is way cheaper and it comes with two meat options, miso soup, salad, and a large bowl of rice for $13.99. I was satisfied with the amount I was given. The meat quality was good. I’m Korean, so I was basing my experience at Gyu-Kaku with kbbq. It’s very similar, but I felt like there wasn’t anything special or different with the meats. Kbbq is marinated in a sweat way, so it’s unique, but Jbbq seemed plain. You do get 3 sauces to dip the meat. I enjoyed my meal and I think it’s worth checking out, especially for their lunch menu!
