The food was delicious, and the staff was very attentive. They had good vegan options, and the sangria was delicious.
The only thing I would change is to have changes of plates for the different foods.
I really like this place. It has tons of character and really great food. My sister begs me to take her here when she comes into town. She absolutely LOVES the oxtail. We've been here a few times and have always enjoyed it. I like perusing their Spanish groceries and other products. Where else can you buy a 3 ft. wide paella pan with a stand? They have a cool, little, private wine room for private parties. The service is always good. If you want an authentic tapa experience, come here.
I love Spanish food and this restaurant is very authentic and offers all the Spanish favorites, tapas and paellas, and they are so delicious! Plus they have great selection of Spanish wines and of course the red sangria! They also have a shop where you can get Spanish olives, cheese, wine, and other goods. The Spanish Square is my new Spanish favorite for sure with its great authentic food and experience!
Atmosphere and service are over the top, and they have an excellent selection of cheese and iberic ham tapas. They lack more cold selections and their menu is small to begin with (and pricey) but it is worth it. Their brunch is exquisite and I don't think people take advantage of it enough. Definitely great for a date or small groups, and be sure to check out their products for sale, which is another plus
I have eaten at The Spanish Square four times. Each and every time I have been impressed at the quality of food, its authentic ambiance, and appreciated its kind and knowledgeable staff, led by its owner Manuel. For those who have spent time in Spain, this restaurant cannot help but create nostalgia, and surpass that feeling with a truly delightful dining experience. Unlike other tapas bars which have tried to focus on tapas buy failed to elevate their guests in an authentic Iberian dining experience, the Spanish Square has roundly succeeded and earned its place among the best tapas bars in the city. (I recommend whatever paella is being served that day).
Great tapas and paella was yummy. They have a little store with products from Spain, you can find great ideas for gifts there. There was only one waiter helping all tables when I went, maybe because it was week night.
Very good Paella. Decent Vegetarian options. The Sangria was excellent. I love the seating in the wine cellar area. Definitely would recommend to anybody looking for a nice date spot in the North Side
Can't go wrong here with any of the tapas! But don't overlook the huge portions of paella or the charcuterie. Also on Thursday, you can purchase wine at retail prices and no corkage fee! They also have a tasting so you can taste some Spanish wines.
Best Spanish restaurant outside of Spain! The owner pays special attention to the details of every dish. Everything from the olives to the rice is authentic. Can't recommend this place enough. You will feel like you're in Spain for the evening.
All the food we ordered was excellent. The paella was one of the best I've had. There happened to be a wine tasting the evening I was there which was a plus. A little pricey, but the quality, service and atmosphere is worth it.
