This place is a gem! Home made waffle cones melt in your mouth. Ice cream flavors are plentiful. I had the mint chocolate chip and the lavender berry. So good! Nothing I have had compares to this,
I found the ice cream pretty amazing... I tried four flavors, in order of how much I liked them: Brown butter almond brittle, gooey butter cake, supermoon, and milkiest chocolate. However - putting them in order doesn't say too much because I would order every one of them again. We were there around 7pm on Saturday 3/25 - the line was 10 deep, but deeper after us - the wait wasn't crazy. The staff seemed pretty delightful. I definitely will be back! Love, Steve
With the heat and the huge number of people at Wicker Park Fest this Saturday, I decided to slip into Jeni's to cool off with some delicious ice cream.
Food: I got a fantastic combination of what they called "Saturday in the Park", a combo of Wildberry Lavender, Lemon Bar, and Brambleberry Crisp ice creams. The price point was good and they also had Boylan's Black Cherry soda, a staple of my childhood, so I indulged myself. It was the perfect combination of refreshing, yet savory.
Service: the workers were super busy, but took care of each person who came through very carefully. I was impressed with how packed it was that they were focused on a person at a time making sure each customer was happy.
Aesthetic: adorable place with a nice flow to it.
I personally don't like most of Jeni's regular flavors but I really loved their limited edition genmaicha, white peppermint chip, and the green mint chip. I also appreciate that they give out free scoops on your birthday.
It's certainly not the cheapest ice cream around, but it is pretty tasty and unique. I find that a lot of places make their ice cream cloyingly sweet, and this place isn't one of them. They are nicely balanced, flavorful, and sometimes a bit salty (which I'm all about). But prepare to pay $10 for an ice cream cone.
Sometimes they make their waffle cones purple, too.
I recently visited Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients truly shine through in every aspect of their ice cream. I ordered a waffle cone with dark chocolate ice cream and it was a truly delightful experience. The dark chocolate ice cream was bursting with rich and intense flavor, making it an absolute treat for chocolate lovers like me. The smooth and creamy texture of the ice cream was perfectly complemented by the indulgent taste of the dark chocolate. It was not overly sweet, allowing the natural richness of the chocolate to shine through. But What truly set this ice cream apart was the waffle cone, The cone itself was expertly crafted, boasting a delicate crispness that added a satisfying crunch to each mouthful and with each bite I was greeted by a symphony of sweet and salty flavors that lingered on my palate, leaving me wanting more. The combination of the dark chocolate ice cream and the waffle cone created a harmonious balance of tastes and textures that made the experience truly memorable. My order from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams exceeded my expectations. The waffle cone with dark chocolate ice cream was a heavenly combination that left me craving for more. I highly recommend trying this flavor and exploring the wide array of offerings from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. It is an experience that will undoubtedly leave you satisfied and eager to come back for more
My favorite Jeni’s location happens to be in the Wicker Park neighborhood! (Maybe it’s so obvious I used to live here…🫢)
Staff members are always so nice, the location is quite spacious, and even among many places that sell sweets in the area this ice cream parlor stands out! 🍨 One day, I had the seasonal flavor of peach jam with biscuits together with cold brew coffee and coconut cream right before my workout…however, it was totally worth every bite ❤️ P.S. Their seasonal flavors are so creative, check out the watermelon taffy!
Plenty of eggless options and huge serving size. You can even order a single scoop (for a few bucks cheaper) if you don’t want to chow down on so much ice cream. Wish we had more of these options in California.
Jeni’s is my go-to ice cream spot in Chicago! Love all their flavors, and the ice cream is very rich. Their waffle cones are also all freshly made so definitely get those!
Favorite flavors: darkest chocolate, brambleberry crisp, and rainbow fro yo
You can buy pints as well in store and in grocery store (my fave is the blackout cake)
Super friendly service and unique ice cream flavors. I got the Goat Cheese with cherry and upside down pineapple cake. They also give a piece of waffle cone that adds a nice crunch and touch to the ice cream.
I asked about the everything bagel flavor since it wasn’t back yet, and the person helping me said it tastes like bagel and cream cheese which is good—but weird for an ice cream flavor.
Have had Jeni’s pints before but this was my first time visiting a store. Smells like heaven in here. Waffle piece was a nice touch, and they give free flavor samples. Darkest Chocolate is the best chocolate ice cream I’ve ever had.
I am very impressed how delicious Jeni's ice creams are. Every single bite was enjoyable along with the waffle cone. I got myself a single of the Texas Sheet Cake (Diary free) and it was definitely plentiful for me. I would say that Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is the best ice cream parlor in Wicker Park, hands down.
