Goddess and the baker is one of my favorite hangs. I always go there to grab a quick cuppa tea/coffee or some cute bakery goods. I love going to goddess to study it's a really great environment. If the aesthetic doesn't when you over the menu will! 100% recommend! Also at their bacon mac & cheese is to die for.
This cute and hip coffee shop exceeded my expectations! The atmosphere is adorable and the staff is so friendly. I got the "liquid" chocolate with espresso and it was so delicious and rich would certainly recommend stopping in if you have never gone.
While in Chicago, we had a quick lunch at Goddess and The Baker. We were heading to check out the Art Institute of Chicago and luckily for us, the restaurant was really close by. I spotted their pretty rainbow cake online and it looked too good to pass up. When we walked in, we were greeted by a huge display case of pastries. There was anything and everything and my sons were quick to pick out what they wanted. The display was so inviting, colorful, and most importantly-everything looked tasty!

Stopped by for lunch and did not realize then how many different savory options they had! I decided to choose a delicious Vietnamese salad bowl full of glass noodles and a whole bunch of fresh vegetables. I had a freshly squeezed drink called Morning Glow and mostly contained carrot juice, my favorite! Just one thing I would like to add, I am allergic to pineapple but it was garnished on the side of the glass without it being listed on the menu. I questioned it and the server kindly told me it was just a fun garnish. I'm glad they offered me to make a new one just to be safe. I really enjoyed my experience there, it was a very relaxing, healthy lunch!
Good food, fun atmosphere. Good for families. Plenty of variety to pick from and it was all good, something for everyone!
A pretty small and packed cafe but it has some good desserts to offer and their speciality coffees are quite unique and good. The decor of the place is really pretty and Insta worthy.

The Goddess & the Baker is perfect whatever you're looking for: coffee, a cute spot for a quick meal (their sandwiches and soup are great), dessert or even a cocktail. The staff is always incredibly friendly and I love the buzzy vibe that's great if you're alone or with friends. One of my favorite spots in Chicago.
I noticed this beautiful cafe on a couple of occasions in Chicago and I had made up my mind that I would definitely pay it a visit. A good cafe can instantly soar my spirits, 'Goddess And The Baker' did that for me. It's a beautifully done place with really great ambiance.
We got here around noon on a Sunday and got the best seating in the cafe that overlooked the street as the years first snow showers happened. Well maybe it was my lucky day. We ordered a couple of house blend coffees, Veggie Toast and a slice of Oreo Fudge Cake. The coffee was really good. The hummus on the toast was the best part about it, I would have preferred the toppings warm rather than cold. The cake was amazing, moist and done just right. I was craving for chocolate cake but had to do with Oreo as that was all they had.
The prices are a tad bit expensive, but I didn't really mind because I really enjoyed the place. I would love to go back and try more desserts and food! I recommend.
Great fun vibe with a great range of sweet treats, regular and expresso coffees and a range of freshly prepared food. Great place to linger.
Hate the name but the goodie's gringo horchatta is the best thing on a hot day. Herbed ricotta on the a I toast is a great touch for breakfast.
An amazing addition to the Loop! This new rendition of the Goddess and Grocer has an array of delicious pastries, sandwiches and more. The atmosphere is super neighborhoody and you can totally escape the bustle of the loop! Will be back for more coffee drinks like the lavender honey frappe I had! Totally legit:)
I've been savoring breakfast delights at The Goddess and the Baker in Chicago for the past couple of days, and each experience has been nothing short of amazing. From the Iron Man scrambled Egg Breakfast to the flavorful Chicken Tinga and the array of healthy options, every dish has exceeded expectations.
What truly stands out is the attention to detail, including the choice of Macadamia milk and oat milk for coffee. The unique and delightful twist in coffee options adds an extra layer to the overall experience. The coffee itself is exceptional, complementing the diverse menu perfectly.
In every visit, The Goddess and the Baker has consistently delivered excellence—from the food variety to the quality of service. It's a place where flavors come alive, and the commitment to offering both delicious and health-conscious options is commendable. I wholeheartedly give them a well-deserved five-star rating for creating a breakfast haven that excels in taste, innovation, and overall dining pleasure.
The quality of the food and beverages match the pictures. Take a look and you will have a feel for what this place really is. Close to perfection! Pastries, sandwiches, hot beverages were all delicious and super fresh. Great menu variety. Cozy and welcoming ambience despite being busy for the entire hour we were there. Service was impeccable.
I'd only suggest a better orientation of the ordering line. It was a bit confusing for those waiting to order and those waiting for their order. But let me clarify that this is just a suggestion and by no means a complaint. Our experience was close to magical and I can't wait to go back next time we are in Chicago.
Cute place to grab elevated breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. The portions are pretty average but the quality and taste of the sandwiches, croissants, and tortas seem pretty good! The drinks are very pretty and honestly a pretty large size for what you’re paying. Refreshing and easy place for a quick meal or to catchup with friends. Also, love the atmosphere indoor as well as the outdoor seating! Definitely recommend it as a nice weekend brunch/pick me up!
Tasty food. Tried the Mediterranean bowl, it’s an absolute delight. Burrito is also delicious.
Best Flat White in Chicago downtown (really!)
Croissants were a little disappointing.
Service could be more friendly.
Gets very busy in the mornings, specially during long weekends (holidays) since downtown Chicago does not offer a lot of good options of great, delicious and healthy brunch.
Worth a visit though.
Dined in with my husband, our three children, and our grandmother. The cashier and other staff were polite and helpful. Not a lot of seating (communal), but fortunately the other guests were accommodating and we were able to move about and make due to sit close together. Food was served hot. We ordered the turkey bacon croissants, a muffin, plain croissant, hot chocolates, and a latte. It was all delicious. We've visited another location so I knew the food would be good. Glad to know it's consistent. This location is a bit noisy as it's situated right under the rail line, but it's fun to watch the trains pass over. Would stop again if we're ever in the area.
Passed by this place on my way to another coffee shop actually and the vibes attracted me. I got my standard matcha, lightly sweetened which they made perfectly. ✨ most of the staff are Black which always makes me feel amazing and the place is ran efficiently and with good hospitality. I have definitely found me a gem for when I’m in town.
I didn’t try any of the food but that is what a lot of people if not everyone who came in got. I love the layout and it’s spacious yet communal.
Looking forward to getting connected to this coffee shop more 🥰
This is such a cute cafe, it's usually fairly busy but it's not super difficult to find seating. There are a lot of sweet treat options and more to eat. I got the bagel and schmere as well a chocolate tart and loved both!
This place has a line out the door but it was so fast! We got right in and made the adult choice to start with breakfast dessert, followed by a savory flavorful omelet.
Highly recommend checking this place out!
Cute atmosphere. Good for a quick bite or a good coffee nook for some reading/study time. Lots of downtown traffic, but makes for good people watching. The Southwest wrap was yum; rainbow cake is always a yummy treat.
delish! first meal in chicago was a certified yum. my little bro ordered a cinnamon cruffin: a magical hybrid of cinnamon roll, croissant, and muffin. confused? so was i, but now i can confirm it is scrumptious! just wish the mediterranean bowl had falafel :/ would def come back here, lots of goodies on the menu i’d LOVE to try!!! 😋🥐
