After seeing the chicken and funnel cake enough, I had to come here for brunch and try it myself. My husband and I shared: - Mimosa Flight (Cranberry, Pineapple, Watermelon, Grapefruit) - Chicken and Funnel Cake with Strawberry Sauce - Lobster "Mac" and Cheese I was pretty impressed by everything. The Chicken and Funnel Cake is so much better than chicken and waffles. The Lobster Mac and Cheese actually had quite a bit of lobster in it. The one downside is that it seemed pretty expensive. Entrees were $25 each which is more than I really want to pay for brunch.

I Loved everything about this place from the friendly staff (especially the bartender named Iyanna) she was just an awesome spirit. Our Waiter was phenomenal, the atmosphere with the music was perfect, and the venue was well clean. Most importantly, the food was hot, fresh and delicious. I've never in all my years would have guess to put Chicken and Funnel Cake together, but they made a great combination. Their Mimosa Flights were well worth the $20 dollars due the size of the cups and you get to choose 4 flavors, out of 5 flavors they offer for your flight. It will definitely get you feeling good to say the least. The only thing I wasn't too fond about was the automatic gratuity they add on the tickets, 22% to be exact, but it does say that visibility throughout the restaurant (reading is fundamental). But overall definitely a vibe and a place I will like to revisit!

Came durning brunch time. Flight mimosa was a great option to try all their flavors, to save time I would recommend the watermelon mimosa, very refreshing. Service was great, very attentive. Food was delicious! Chicken and funnel cake had perfect savor and sweet balance. Steak and eggs cooked perfectly. Lobster Mac sauce BOMB! But I would say not to order the mussels. Not good at all. I had one bite and said sent it back, save your money for something else. Other then that a solid brunch spot.

Went here for a special occasion, and had an amazing time! All of the food is top notch, plated well, and very rich. The unlimited truffle fries is an amazing twist on finer dining that I think more places should try! On top of that, the wait staff could not be more friendly and helpful! Definitely recommend for a special occasion!

The Dunavant is a wonderful restaurant to visit on a nice warm spring/summer day. The outdoor concept takes this place to the next level. The brunch options are quite unique compared to other places around Charlotte. The chicken and funnel cake is and should be their specialty items because it you haven't seen a dozen of these leave the kitchen; you may have came during dinner. I would definitely revisit for dinner since the menu has a better selection. Personally, the lobster mac and cheese wasn't my favorite but it was slightly better after adding salt and pepper. The prices were reasonable but be warned there is a 20% gratitude no matter the party size! I'm a fan of tipping but it automatic shows that the servers may not be paid well and/or people have forgot to tip since the pandemic has happened and that's an issue within itself. Other than that, I would return to try their dinner entrées.

The food was quite delicious. They, wide selection of food to choose from, that stayed within its theme. The food was well seasoned. They had good cocktails. I can't say anything about their draft because they were out of the one that I wanted to try. I enjoyed the duck fries, the duck leg, and the butternut squash bisque, the blood orange nova bomb, and the peach sparkler. Now as for the price. This is very affordable and it will only be expensive if you make it expensive. The lighting is nice, the food is good and not over priced, this is a good place for a date.

Really liked this concept and all of the food was delicious. $25 gets you soup or salad, sirloin steak with one of three sauces, and a ton of truffle fries. I had the leek soup and it was amazing. The steak was tender and the French brown butter sauce complimented it perfectly. The fries were great, but I can’t see anyone needed an endless supply of them.

Even though reservations was needed they were able to accommodate our party of 4. The food was really good especially the tunnel cake and chicken! The drinks were amazing and the service was excellent! Great first time experience and it definitely exceeded my expectations!!!

Great experience. Justin was our server and he was phenomenal! The food was delicious. Crab cakes nice and fresh no filler. They're gluten free. That steak...yummy. No complaints. And they're kid friendly. We ordered Mac and cheese for my 3 year old.

INTRO: The Dunavant is a hidden gem of Charlotte that has one of the most unique combinations of chicken and waffles in North Carolina: the chicken and funnel cake. I highly recommend making a reservation because the chicken and funnel cake is only served during brunch hours on Saturdays. DRINKS: Mimosa flight ($20) - There are 5 flavors available, but we decided to get the grapefruit, pineapple, watermelon, and orange flavors. Honestly, I was not a fan of the mimosas. The drinks were extremely flat and had no carbonation at all. It felt like I was drinking lukewarm juice instead of mimosas. 3/10 ENTREE: Chicken and Funnel Cake ($25) - This is the reason why you should visit the Dunavant. This is the holy grail of all entrees at this restaurant. The chicken was juicy and tender and had a hint of spice that enhanced the overall flavor profile of the chicken. The funnel cake was beautifully deep fried and maintained a nice crispy texture even when it was bathed with the banana foster sauce. There are 3 sauces to choose from that cost an additional $1 or $2. We decided to get the banana foster, which added a subtle fruity and mellow sweetness to balance the savory chicken. There is more than enough food for this dish to be split among 2 people. PLEASE GET THE CHICKEN AND FUNNEL CAKE WHEN YOU GO HERE. 9/10 VENUE: There is plenty of seating available, both inside and outside. There is a full bar located in the center of the restaurant, alongside the back wall. During warm weather, the street-facing wall of the restaurant is opened to create an open atmosphere. PARKING: There is street parking available. DRESS CODE: No dress code but most people were dressed pretty well. WORTH IT? YES for the chicken and funnel cake, not the mimosa flights.
