Big Apple Deli is awesome. We went here for lunch one day since it’s close to our office. The seating area inside is large enough to handle the busy hours. They’ve a wide selection ranging from cold cut sandwiches to cheese burgers, cheese steaks and pita breads. They’ve desserts such as brownies, banana pudding and cheesecakes, and drinks as well.
We got the crispy chicken pita and the veggie pita along with a soda and a side of cheese fries(without the beef). The crispy chicken was quite delicious, and just the right amount of juicy. We appreciated how well-cooked it was. The veggie pita had a decent amount of vegetables in it as well. The fries definitely checked the box for guilty pleasure. We loved how fresh it all tasted.
As a newbie to Charlotte, I love finding spots like these that seem underrated and still pack a punch when it comes to food and service. The service was quite prompt and polite.
There’s a lot of parking available outside, and the pick-up counter for food is in the back. I’ll be back here soon.
Wow! I had food from Big Apple Deli delivered tonight. It was exceptional!! The Grilled Chicken Salad is tasty with juicy, tender, real cooked chicken, the ingredients they use compliment each other perfectly. My experience.was even better when I had the pleasure of trying the Banana Pudding. The honest truth is that it is the best banana pudding, in Charlotte, that I've ever had . I also tried a bite of the wonderful Carrot Cake. The cake is moist, the spices are blended just right, and the whipped cream cheese frosting is amazing!! Please treat yourself to Big Apple Deli. You'll love it!
I'm hooked. I don't know what took me so long to find this place. Classic old school options. Delicious. Incredible prices and value. We will be back, likely tomorrow, and the next day.
UPDATE: I DID go back the next day, and it was just as good. (My boss also loved his chicken Philly pita)
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Charlotte. The food is amazing every single time.
First Try and ordered 4 pup. All is delicious and big salads-clearly 2fers, each. Got the BLT w/extra bacon...all would not literally fit on bread 🤣 -huh huh *that one was too fast for a pic* and this Italian cold sub I'll add my champagne vinaigrette (Gerards @ grocery) to. I was late ping up (:30) but still fresh and crisssp.
Check their prices! $6.85 for some sandwiches, salads $8.95-less than what I'm seeing elsewhere.
Never disappointed! Been eating here since they opened in 1988 & have never been disappointed. Only disappointed when I can't get it🤗
Excellent service. Very clean establishment. The food was fresh and hot!!
The Greek salad is still the best I’ve found in Charlotte - the veggies are always super fresh and the chicken is nicely seasoned and grilled.

I have been coming here for years. They consistently give GREAT service, and the food is amazing!! Hands down, one of my favorite local spots , not too many places stay open for this long, they've got the recipe for both food and service!!!
