I LOVE this place!!! Chinese food was my favourite growing up. I've been vegan since 2007, and still love going for Asian food, but Ma Ma Wok is a step above the regular Family Style Bean Curd, and Seasame tofu you have to choose from at most Asian places...although they DO offer that. If you are not a veg who is grossed out by seriously realistic meat substitutes I suggest the BBQ pork style appetizer or any of the "beef" dishes. My fav main dish is the sweet and spicy beef. It reminds me of Mongolian beef, but with more veggies. The Ying Yang soup is SO cool!!! Just remember that it's all vegetarian, but not everything is vegan. They are great about adjusting for vegan and GF. This place has great food, tons of vegan choices, and fantastic customer service! Last night I was 30 minutes late to pick my take out order, and had an additional 25 minute drive home. My food was still warm when I arrived!!!! I highly reccomd Ma Ma Wok to all!!!!
So wonderful. I got the sesame vegan chicken with fried rice and steamed broccoli. Great flavor and the texture of the vegan chicken was perfect. We also tried the vegan lemon fish appetizer, which had the perfect fish flavor that I think a lot of new vegans miss. We were really wanting to try the vegan shrimp, but there was no appetizer for it. The waitress was kind enough to get them to fry two little shrimp for us to try. I will definitely be back!
I've loved this place for years because it's really nice and the food is amazing. The best part is how friendly everyone is, especially the owner. Every now and then, they change up the menu, which is cool. You'll feel like friends, not just customers. And if you're a meat eater wanting to try vegetarian food, this is the perfect spot.
We had: House Special Lo Mein, Sesame Chicken, and Green Beans. Service: Excellent. Food: Excellent. Sweet Tea was a little off my personal taste but fine. We arrived for lunch at 1:30p on Sunday for lunch. I figured it would be dead, it was. We were warmly greeted and served immediately. The kitchen was fast. We were pleased with the quality and taste of everything ordered.

Wow, this was my first time having vegan Chinese food, and I am super impressed. The sesame vegan “chicken” is spot on, and has a great chewy texture that is more firm and chewy than normal tofu, which was great. The flavors of the fried rice could be a little stronger, but as a 11$ or so combo plate of sesame chicken and fried rice, I can’t complain. The portion size is large enough for two meals, and the flavors are delicious - makes me feel like I’m eating “the real thing”, without sacrificing flavor for the sake of it being vegan.
The beef lomein was also really tasty. A tiny bit dry in my opinion, but great with a little soy and duck sauce. The vegan “beef” has a unique cinnamon taste or Chinese 5 spice, I’m not sure, but it tastes unique and has a great bite. I absolutely love that the vegan meats here are not flimsy tasteless tofu, or beans with spice. I can tell they put a lot of time and thought into flavor and texture profiles. Overall, super delicious, definitely will be coming back, and bringing friends!
The best vegan Chinese food I have ever had. Extensive menu and the food is fabulous. The taste and the texture are delicious. I live in Florida and when I visit my sister in Charlotte, I never miss the opportunity to eat here. If you are in the Charlotte area, do not miss this gem.
Full vegan menu. Very flavorful. Do not leave without tasting the buffalo wings. I highly recommend.
Amazing food and service! Don’t walk, run to this restaurant. My friend and I ate family-style ordering two appetizers, three entrees, and donuts for dessert. Our meal was perfectly paced. I am a meat-eater and every dish was out-of-this-world delicious. The duck in particular was better than real duck in texture, moisture, and flavor! When the donuts arrived, our stomachs miraculously made room for these fresh pillowy delights. We look forward to enjoying the leftovers, too!
Good place to enjoy some vegetarian Thai food. We tried lo-min and veg chicken. It was good. Not a fan of fried wontons here, but spring rolls were good. The Thai sweet tea is good as well.
Very delicious vegan Chinese food! We will definitely be back to try more of the items on the menu. So many options to choose from.
Vegan wings were awesome!! The vegan duck was Ducking great! Two thumbs up !!
The BEST Chinese food you will ever eat! Fully vegan menu of classic Chinese dishes that will change your life. The dumplings are a must try! Nicest staff and quick service. Everything is so fresh.
