One of my favorite places for breakfast. A true local hang out spot. Love the 2 eggs, bacon, grits, and biscuit for <$5
Good local spot for Lexington-style bbq. Vinegar + ketchup sauce had a hint of spice & chopped pork was on point. Plus, they had tots!
Great food!! A huge selection of food to choose from everyday specials like fried chicken, BBQ chicken, chicken salad, burgers, fries, green beans, mac n cheese, onion rings, salads and the list goes on! They also serve breakfast and dinner! The best thing is that it's very affordable - not over priced! The seating area is limited as well as parking but we'll worth the walk if you work or live in the area or scooter on over! Love Art's!!
Ah, where do I begin with Arts?! We have ALWAYS had exceptional service here. The owner takes pride in his restaurant, and takes the time to speak with his customers. It's a down home deli with delectable food. I usually order their hot cakes that are nearly as big as the plates they serve them on. They're fluffy and so yummy, as each bites is soaked with syrup! Yeah, I'd like some now, too! I will say that there was a time they gave us an extra hot dog they had made. It was a kind gesture, that we appreciated, but there was a piece of plastic in the toppings. With Arts being as wonderful as they are, it was pretty easy to look past that. Service really does go a long way and affects your opinions and experiences regarding restaurants.
The staff were smiling, patient, and made helpful recommendations. I ordered grilled chicken tenders, rice, gravy, green beans. It was very good. The place can use a little updating but it's allure I think is that it's a diner/dive. My socks didnt fly off but I enjoyed my meal.
My wife enjoy breakfast here and have been coming for years. Nothing unexpected in the menu. What they do, they do well. We have come for lunch a few times and enjoy the Barney as well. Prices are reasonable.
What to say about this place. The food is delish and priced well for the area. All the comfort Staples can be found on their menu. Try their roasted chicken, I find the rub to be perfect for that kind of dish. They also have the basic sandwich type stuff too. I recommend the corned beef on wheat .
In a city where trendy restaurants and coffee shops come and go (sometimes in the blink of an eye), Arts is a solid part of Charlotte's food scene. For that, I am grateful. I love the food, friendly service, and the fact that some of the Queen City's who's who can often been seen chatting it up with Art's customers. Great spot! Eat here.
This place is a Charlotte institution. The BBQ is what I almost always get, but the other dishes are fantastic as well. This isn’t NC eastern or NC western BBQ. It’s Art’s BBQ. But it is delicious! The staff will remember your name, your order, etc. if you become a regular. Oh, and I don’t know what they do to their blue cheese dressing, but I want to buy it by the gallon.
