I can't claim to be a barbecue expert, but I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service at Bobbee O's. And the love was definitely being felt all the way around the table. The meat was exceptional, and as sides go, the cabbage and mac and cheese were stand outs.

Hidden treasure. Don't let the exterior fool you like it did us. My husband and I have lived close to Bobbee O's for years and just tried it about 2 months ago after reading a review. Delicious BBQ! We've only had the pulled pork so far and it's fantastic. The baked beans, mac&cheese, slaw and even their fries are so good! Bonus is the folks that work there are incredibly nice. You'll want to take it to go most likely...very small & warm inside. Parking is a bit tricky, but worth the effort.
Don't be fooled by the interior and lack of air conditioning, the food is SO good! I don't recommend getting the individual sides, pay a lil extra and get a bigger portions. Individual size is a tease!!!

Excellent Cue, Generous Portions. The local newspaper recently did their annual version of the Sweet Sixteen March Madness pairing. The do this each year with a different type of culinary item item and this year it was one that is near and dear to all native Carolinian's and that is Bar-B-Cue. Scoring is mixture of judging alongg with some imput from local partron.
Bobbee's O's was one of the Sweet Sixteen this year and make it to the semi-finals with good reason. I went down for lunch today to give them a try and it was a pleasant experience.
Place is tiny in a small strip mall off of Old Statesville Road just North of WT Harris Blvd. Parking lot is a little trickly because of the one way direcctions. Only enough room for one row of cars next to the Bldg with the traffic flow behind them so that will give you an idea of the size of the building.
Don't let the size of the building fool you. The Bar-B-Cue is great and portions are very large.You won't leave hungry. While it is rather not pretensious in physical facilities, I makes up for it where it counts and that is the food.
I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Fries and as a option, i chose to have it on Texas Toast. The meat was properly cooked and was very moist and full of a nice smokey hickory flavor although I suspect that some fruit wood was used as well. It's served with the sauce on the side which is good because then you can add as much or in my case, as littel sauce as you like. Sauce is a version of the Lexington (NC) and while I prefer the Eastern Style, it was still very good.
Fries were very good and are of the seasoned variety.
Service is excelllent and I could not have asked for better. Atmosphere is plain and simple but when you get down to it, that is what Bar-B-Cue is all about. t's the ultimate Southern and with apologies, Western Comfort Food.
Highly recommend.
Amazing Place. Tried it last night, got the pulled chicken and pork plate. The pork is soo tasty without sauce, even though the homemade sauce is delicious. The chicken is smoky, sweet, and tender. Tried the collards and Mac and Cheese, and both were just as good. My buddy had the Brisket, which you could cut with a fork.
They were also incredibly friendly!
If you live in Northlake, go here...it's the best BBQ I've had in Charlotte
Excellent for catering. Bobbee O's just catered a company event for 50 people and did a terrific job. Everyone raved about how good the food was. Bobbee was right on time and got everything set up perfectly. Would recommend if you're planning an event that needs a good BBQ caterer.

Absolutely the best BBQ I've ever eaten. The meat peeled off the bone w/ ease The homemade BBQ sauce was smooth with a Hot bite! And all the sides had a homemade taste. Highly recommend!
Everybody has their own opinion about everything. Honestly the best ribs I've EVER had. I'm from new York so it's all about the sauce for me. When ordering from here I always get extra sause from my meal. My usual is baby back ribs half slab with fries and baked beans ! It's love in my mouth. I wouldn't sit and eat there but the staff is amazing and friendly... I wouldn't suggest ordering the full rack just get a half rack it seems like they cook them differently 4 STARS
This place seems like a hidden gem for bbq. The food was ahhh-mazing, and I say that with confidence as a certified bbq snob. A light smokey smell is present as soon as the front door is opened, which was the first good sign. It's a modern jazzy vibe with the artwork and music to match. The pulled pork was flavorful, tangy, juicy with some mild heat 9.6/10. The sauce complimented it so well by balancing out with some sweetness. These style hush puppies are my favorite for bbq 10/10. The mac and cheese was different than any other place Ive had before but still just as good 8.7/10. The fries were perfectly fried and crispy, a feat of their own. The staff was friendly and accommodating 10/10. I can't wait to go back.
The food and service was perfect. I got the side dish meal - the greens and candied yams were SO good. My sons had the brisket and pulled pork. Best BBQ sauce I’ve ever had. Very kind, sweet, server.
The food is always amazing. It's a great place for lunch to sit down and eat. I had the pulled chicken sandwich. The sauce was delicious, the bun was toast yet soft, and the chicken was tender. I love the macaroni and cheese...very flavorful and full of cheese. The staff was friendly and professional. There was practically no wait, and the food arrived quickly. I would highly recommend it.
We dropped in on a chilly, cloudy Tuesday evening during our stop over in Charlotte. Bobbee O's is a short distance from our hotel. (When in NC, have NC BBQ.) It wasn't very busy when we arrived, but it was after the dinner rush. We were promptly greeted by 2 employees. My partner & I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich combos, mine with fries, his with slaw. The same gentleman who took our order also delivered our food. The sandwich was HUGE. What a touch that the bun is a toasted brioche bun & with butter! It's served with a side of sauce. The pork is nice & tender with just a hint of smoke & not too much sauce. The fries were crispy & the slaw was tasty. Everything was hot & fresh & served in black plastic "iron skillets" (super cute). The manager checked on us as did the gentleman who took our order. I really appreciated the music as it added to the atmosphere (Tuesday Bluesday?) Definitely on my list to visit if I'm through Charlotte again!
If you are in Charlotte, NC then this is a must. Bobbee O's was once featured in Parade Magazine as one of the top 3 best BBQ joints in the USA. It is owned and operated by the Man, the Myth, the Legend, the BBQ Maestro himself Bobbee O. This place is outstanding! I ordered the Brisket Combo meal. Every element of that meal was great! It is the best brisket I've ever eaten, coleslaw was finely chopped, sweet, and delicious. Also, the fries and hush puppies were great. They also had Cheerwine as a soft drink choice! When you go up to the counter you may have the privilege of being served by 'All Smiles' Allie. She will square you away on the menu and get you going. Bobbee O and 'All Smiles' Allie are pictured.

My children and I are trying new restaurants and this one is close to my son’s barbershop. I was excited to try a black owned barbecue spot, so we stopped in! My son and I had pulled pork platters. I had Mac and cheese and collards and he had Mac and cheese and fried okra. My daughter got buffalo dipped wings and fries. I also ordered the small hush puppies. Her meal came with tea, but the sweet cashier allowed my son and me to get a drink too because she knew the wait would be long. My order was placed at 7:22 and we didn’t get our food until 8PM.
I’m not complaining about the wait because the food was fresh. My pulled pork was good, the fried okra and hush puppies were good. I did not like the Mac and cheese at all because it had a strong onion taste. The collards were not seasoned well at all. My daughter’s wings and fries were good though. The cornbread was a hard NO! It was super dry. Overall, I would go back and try something different. I read a review that said the sides weren’t the best, so I’ll try to find something I like. Definitely worth a try though!
Visited this place for the first time and I must say I am impressed. I ordered the smoked chicken and it was delicious. Included a side of fried okra with my order and they were delicious as well. The employees are very friendly, and the owner's neice is a sweetheart. I will definitely be returning!
I work at rooms to go outlet and sometimes they will feed us so I am responsible for ordering the food so I wanted to try Bobbie o’s and needless to say everyone was satisfied. The food was fresh. It was hot and it was delicious. we had no complaints and we fed 36 people. Even our picky eaters loved it lol great job also there was enough for everyone to get seconds

Food was excellent. The pulled chicken was moist and not overcooked with just enough sauce. Mac and cheese was good as well, but the best thing on the plate was the baked beans! Gorgeous atmosphere and clean space to spend an hour! I will definitely be back!

By happenstance, I ran across Bobbee O's BBQ. Friends of mine from out of town stopped bye and wanted something to eat for lunch. Specifically, BBQ with hushpuppies. That was the main criteria; besides not being from a big chain restaurant.
Googling the brief parameters and closest location to me; and Bobbee O's BBQ came up in response to my query.
To say that I was fortunate, would be an understatement. Extremely impressed would be much more accurate.
Located right off of Statesville road, the location was perfect. Everything was handicap accessible, as was the parking. Plenty of seating was available. And the vibe was unlike most restaurants that I've visited and/or dined at. A continuous blend of blues and jazz music by all of the greatest legends in the business; both past and present.
Immediately upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by a young lady named JP, as I approached the front counter to order. And it wasn't just your standard greeting, given without a second thought. It was warm, personable and genuine.
For that matter, everyone that worked there seemed to be enjoying themselves. Smiling and friendly.
We were even offered samples of some of the particular sides, that we hadn't ordered.
As we were gathering the multiple bags with our to go orders, JP introduced me to none other than Bobbee O. A very warm and personable gentleman who was still working in his namesake restaurant. I inquired about the selection of music and commented the relaxing atmosphere he had created. That's the music that he was raised on by his older sister; that's all that she ever played.
The pulled pork was very nicely done and extremely flavorful. Both of the housemade sauces, whether you chose the regular or spicy, were a fantastic compliment to the pork. I had both.
The slaw, hushpuppies, mac and cheese were right there at the top of the food chain.
The rib sandwich was served on Texas toast and loaded with meat, as well as being deboned. The chili cheese fries were absolutely loaded and delicious.
There were a plethora of amazing looking desserts. Not a meat eater, they've got you covered as well. Vegetables galore and salads. Something for everyone.
The food, the vibe and the staff members make sure that you'll enjoy yourself. All told, most assuredly and A+ experience.
