Earlier in the day I had pointed out this place because we wanted tacos, but didn’t want to walk far from our resort. We had some reservations that because of the name they may be pricy. They weren’t to over the top, about average for the area. Our waitress was very helpful in navigating the menu. She had an excellent memory. She didn’t write anything down, and remembered all our special requests. Throughout the meal she was very attentive. While figuring out what we wanted to eat we enjoyed looking at the names of things. Very cleaver. We had a good time with the movie references. They don’t serve tea, which was a bit of a disappointment. My other half settled on water. I myself had Diet Coke. We shared a friend zone with sugar instead of salt. It tasted like a standard margarita. Nothing special, but still tasty. For an appetizer we shared a Snoop A Loop. Special requested to have meat, queso, lettuce, tomato. It was delicious, and ended up being what I ate for dinner. They were generous with the toppings. We had a few chips left I’ve, and still plenty of toppings to take with us for a snack later. For dinner we both had a Why So Serious. It’s a pretty standard taco. We subsisted pico for tomato because of my onion allergy. They were also generously portioned. After a couple bites I ended up giving mine to my other half- the hamburger had a bit to much spice for my liking. I’m not sure why I didn’t notice this on the Snoop A Loop. If they had dessert options I didn’t notice. Full from dinner we didn’t ask either. Maybe on a other visit. I didn’t noticing anything striking or standout about the décor. We were in a booth. It was sturdy and didn’t rock, which was nice. They were friendly to our service dog. They made sure where we sat had ample space for my Walker and service dog. Between the service and food we’d visit again when in town.

Chicken and Steak was juicy, tender, flavorful. Pork was good. Fish, not so much. Overall: delicious. Long duck dong for the win. Yes, that's what it's called.

Amazing cool evening at Ru Ru’s! Thought it would be very expensive and yuppy. Nope, perfect place for everyone in the best area of Charleston! The food and drinks were spot on, highly recommended and even better service.

Ru Ru's far exceeded my expectations. We ordered nachos with steak and added guac. They were the most well layered nachos in terms of toppings on chips that I've ever had. The steak had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the fried fish taco and shrimp taco which were very large and priced very fairly. I was so surprised at how good our frozen mango margarita was. It wasn't too sweet and didn't taste like any of the fake margaritas that you'd get out there. It was strong with great flavor. Only frozen margarita that I've had that's comparable is mad dog and beans in NYC. We also were seated right away and the food came very fast for a Saturday night at 7:30pm. Highly recommend.

Had the chicken fajitas, very yummy, only issue was the corn tortillas were all too dry and half were cracked apart before i even got them ): but the flour were just fine and the rest made up for it in taste (:

What an experience! Yeah it’s loud and busy, it’s a BAR on king street. Literally the most popular tourist hotspot. Not sure what the negative comments are expecting. Anyways, tacos are huge and well portioned with lots of toppings. Presentation was great, love the movie names(makes for a fun and unique ordering experience, HA.) Our party of 7 most of us being 100% Mexican quite enjoyed this menu and the twist it had on some dishes. I was quite impressed with the cheese dip, I simply could not put it down. Definitely recommend and hope to be back again soon!

Absolutely delicious stop if you’re downtown! The staff was awesome and super friendly, and the tacos were AMAZING. Our favorite was the “Slappin the bass”, which is great even if you’re not a seafood fan. The apps were delicious as well, and the mixed drinks were the right level of strong. We’ll definitely be back!

Great food, good service, and decent prices. The quesadillas were outstanding. The serving was more than I could eat. On main Street and easy to find.

Wow Ruru's really impressed! We ducked in for a late lunch and it was not busy at all. The dishes all follow a movie theme (I think) and they have quite the selection, although you'll be disappointed if you're looking for authentic tacos and Mexican food. We ordered the chips and queso (amazing) and a few tacos each. Their house hot sauce was so good, we bought a bottle to take home! Our waitress (I think her name was Bailey) was in training, but was exceptional. We were in a bit of a rush and she offered to bring our check early. Thank you! The only wish I had is that some of their tacos had a corn tortilla option. Will be returning!

The food here was absolutely 5/5 stars. It was absolutely delicious and came out in a timely manner. The drinks were also good and regularly priced for Charleston. The bartenders we're super friendly. The only reason I did not give it a 5/5 star was there was a 30 minute wait for a table when there were more empty tables then seated tables.
