Visiting Charleston for a week and stopped by for a taste of the local coffee scene. Grabbed a blueberry muffin and asked for a recommendation from the barista working. Ended up with a delicious brown sugar cappuccino. The espresso roast was low acidity with a robust flavor. And the sweetness level was perfect. The muffin was soft and tasted homemade. Definitely worth a stop!
The sweet potato latte was maybe the best latte I have ever had. Really delicious coffee and tea, awesome barista, lovely atmosphere. (Photo is a matcha latte.)
Simple good coffee and fancy espresso/coffee drinks too. Good selection of food. Pretty fast. Many nice walks around it.
Delicious cappuccinos and espresso drinks served in real mugs paired with airy coffeehouse vibes. Loved the specialty coffee roasts and carefully crafted drinks.
The ambiance of this coffee shop is great and if it were in my town I would consider this a prime hang out or studying venue. Otherwise it seems that they have top choice and tea products, but the brewing methods for neither coffee or tea was optimal so the beverages didn't shine. Service was also a little languid/lackluster.
Awesome coffee in a nice, bright setting. The staff were friendly and professional. Espresso was smooth and delicious (plus served with a little sparkling water) and pricing was reasonable. There's quite a bit of merchandise with their brand on it, which was slightly odd but maybe some people are super brand-loyal in the neighborhood.
Probably my favorite cafe in Charleston! Their cappuccino and flat white are top notch! Cute little place with cozy atmosphere! Baristas are always friendly
Probably my favorite coffee shop in Charleston! Relaxed, great staff, and great coffee! I personally prefer stronger espresso in my lattes, but otherwise on the other end of the spectrum for people that prefer more flavor, it’s perfect. Definitely will go back!
Very cozy and peaceful atmosphere! No complaints of their coffee. I had a cup of Tanzania peaberry, it was okay. I am very picky with coffee, so please don’t take it too seriously as I said ‘coffee was OKAY’.
Interior was very trendy, bright light and warm I really like it. Tables and water, cream station were maintained nice and clean. I had lemon custard cream scone and banana nutella turnover. They both were so delicious!! (Of course pastries are from Wild flour which is one of the best bakery in Charleston lol)
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Parking spot is 1 min walking distance, very understandable since the coffee shop is in downtown.
One of the best coffee places in Charleston! If you love a Flat White then you’ll like 2nd State Coffee - strong espresso that’s rich and tasty without the bitterness, milk is frothed perfectly resulting in a smooth silky texture. The cafe space is big , light and bright, and there’s free Wifi too. Perfect place to hang out for an hour or so. They also serve a few pastries if you’re in need of some carbs.
