Went to dinner here. Food was great! The food evenly mildly spicy was a little much for my gf but she still liked it. (Eg. The vegetable samosas and chicken tikka masala.) You won't run out of water here. I couldn't even get my water glass past half before it was refilled. Also had a mango Lassi which was good. Only draw back was I waited to long to try out this place.
I always like the food here I'm surprised it's not busier than it is. Well least you don't have to wait for a table. I hope it doesn't go out of business I love the food!
This restaurant is conveniently close to us, and also seems to be the best Indian food around for 40 miles. Trust me, we've tried nearly everything in and around San Jose and surrounding communities.
We've never been disappointed by the food here no matter what we've ordered. Our favorites are the Mattar Paneer (Peas with farmers cheese), Chicken Korma (cashew sauce chicken), Sag Lamb (creamed spinach and lamb). But as I've said, everything seems to be done well.
I believe - but am not sure - that they recently changed ownership (or perhaps its just front-of-house staff that changed), but the chefs are still the same so the food quality is unchanged.
Great service very kind and attentive. Food was delicious fast and came out fresh and hot. Clean and well kept dining area. We will definitely be back I'm surprised this place isn't packed out
Haven't got a chance to visit Royal Taj and have a meal over there though we ended up ordering quite a bit for a dinner setup. We ended up ordering Paneer Tikka Kabab, Saag Paneer, Tandoori Chicken (full) , Kabuli Naan (tasted amazing and fantastic) , Garlic Naan, Chicken Makhanwala and Chicken Biryani along with some Raita.
Kabuli Naan with Chicken Makhanwala was the first target and it definitely set the tone for the dinner and for what was to follow. Tandoori items were definitely tasty and had that undertone of what authentic tandoor would taste. The spices and marination was just perfect and we loved every bit of these. Followed that with the Garlic Naan and Saag paneer along with bites of the biryani with Rait and that quite summed up an amazing dinner.
Would definitely drive down some day over to Royal Taj and plan for a dinner or so.
We ordered the chicken Tikka Masala, aloo gohbi, and garlic Naan. All three were delicious.
I have ordered food from there a few times now and each time, I am blown away with the quality and flavor of the food. If I ever want Chicken Tiki Masala, I go there. No other restaurant compares.
