I can’t rave enough about my experience with Lait Cru over and over again. Their monthly themed dinners are a must, they are usually accompanied with wine or beer pairings. Their brunch is fantastic, the wine selection is unique and their oysters... ah the best I’ve had in Buffalo. The staff is so great and Jill, the owner is one of the best people I’ve had the pleasure meeting.
This place is super cute, it has amazing lighting in a nice open space along with an open kitchen.
Booked brunch here last Sunday for 4, waited about 15 mins to be seated. Meanwhile wandered the downstairs of the building and through the attached cheese/meat store.
Brunch was good, just took a little long to make it to the table.
2 of us ordered the lentil dish and 2 others ordered the classic. I am kind of disappointed that there were very little vegetarian options... it seemed like you could have lentils... orrrrr you could have lentils. So, I had lentils ( they were out of the ratatouille - and I didn’t want a salad or grilled cheese sandwich).
Needless to say, they were good, and the meal was filling - I was literally stuffed till 8pm - I just wouldn’t want to only have one option available to me on the menu if I came back here multiple times, I’d like to be able to try something different (Not a bunch of sides).
I also ordered the Mac and cheese which the whole table liked.
Waitress was nice, nothing exceptional.
4 mains and 4 drinks came to $93 before tip.
Really impressed with lait cru. Food was well prepared. Wait staff was great. Will definitely go back. Loved the French themes
Went in on a Wednesday around dinner time and sat at the bar. We were immediately offered water and food and drink menus. I ordered a few appetizers and a glass of Prosecco. The oysters tasted amazing and were very fresh, the steak tartar was good, and we also had a cheese board that was on happy hour special. Service (by Dylan) was great, and he was knowledgeable on any questions we had. Can't wait to go back for entrees and also brunch!
This is a very Charming restaurant. I was very impressed with the selection on the menu. The only reason I can't give a higher rating right now is because there was an over salting on the poultry. I'm sure it was an isolated case. The risotto was perfect. The vegetables were perfect. And the goat cheese apricot and pistachio crust dessert was superb. The owner is very charming and engaging. The setting is very appropriate. I will return.
We had the opportunity to enjoy a phenomenal meal here prior to a Shea's performance. In true French Bistro style, the menu is complete without being overwhelming. I ordered the chicken - something I never do - and was so pleased with its crisp skin and perfectly cooked meat. It was served on a bed of delicious lentils and was warming and satisfying. The steak frites was prepared traditionally and was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We did a selection of cheeses from the attached cheese shop that complimented our meal quite well, and Desserts were Devine. We have yearned for a casual french bistro to open up in the area and I believe this will fit the bill. I look forward to long lunches this winter with a bottle of stout red wine, some cheese and a bit of pastry to nibble on. This please is just what we needed.
