The first buffalo wings I had at Buffalo and the internet said it's the best. Well, that ain't wrong. We took a double of mild sauce and the suicide sauce mixed and they were oh so amazing. I am out an out spice lover so I loved the hot suicide sauce. Must visit!
When I lived in DC, I was on the hunt for the perfect guacamole. Now that we live in Western New York, I’m on the hunt for the perfect chicken wing. Last Friday night, I think I found the first contender, though I have miles to go and a few hundred wings to try. But for now let me tell you about our evening at Gabriel’s Gate in Allentown, Buffalo.
The wings here are pretty good, some of the best I've had. They're big and the bbq sauce is excellent. The prices are in line with any where you'd go for a casual meal &/or wings. Definitely worth coming here for. Tip: park and Delaware ave and walk over instead of trying to park on Allen.
Great wings, some of the best in town but seriously let's up the game from RC cola products that aren't free refills to some Pepsi or coke
Gabriels has the best French Onion soup in the city , always consistently rich and flavorful . For chicken wing hounds....so far the best ! Forget Anchor Bar! I have been going here for 20 + years hasn't changed a bit...including the menu...stick to the onion soup and wings.
Oldie & Goodie!. Been going here since the later 80's. My parents even went here back in the 60s! I find there is something wonderful to be said for ANY establishment to still be existent after all these years! While wood wear, buildings settle, one thing remains the same .... quality and customer service! During all these years, I've never ever had a bad meal, and it's nice that you can wear jeans and sneakers or dress and tie and fit right in. This is always going to be a Buffalo favorite and very special place to me!
I still love this place.... I grew up less than a mile from Gabriel's Gate. I've always liked this place, and I contend that their chicken wings are still amongst the very best in our area. I recently had the pleasure of introducing some really good friends to Gabriel's Gate. They were really impressed. The menu, the food, the beer selection, the service, and the fireside table in the beautiful, old Allentown building..... all wonderful!
Eating Through Buffalo

Wings and Burgers. Always came here for the wings but I had an excellent cheeseburger here this weekend. Patty was large and homemade and cooked exactly how I ordered. Side of fries came out in a wooden bowl and are big enough to split. Wings are some of the best in the city. Large, saucy and meaty. I also like the salads and other bar food appetizers. Restaurant is in one of the old Tift Row houses. Back patio and garden are open during the warm months. Fun place to go after a game or to watch one. Great cheap happy hour specials. Brunch on Sunday. Service is never consistent. Bartender took 10 minutes to notice we were even there. Wait staff is the same way.
Great Fish Fry. Visiting Buffalo from out of town. Gabriel's was recommended by someone local. We had a large party which they accommodated quite nicely on the patio. Waitress recommended the wings for the table to start. The wings were great.! Ordered the fish fry and the portion was HUGE. Wife ordered her fish broiled and loved it. Service was fantastic and very friendly. Definitely recommend this restaurant and won't hesitate to return next time I'm in Buffalo.
I'm surprised at the bad reviews. This is a great place. Awesome food, great happy hour prices, good service.. Ill go back again and again. Beautiful place too.
