Great food, good atmosphere decent service.
I have been there couple of times and the food has been consistently great.
The problem around there is parking. There is absolutely no street parking around if you go there at wrong time. If you are around in the evening, good luck finding parking.
Do not under estimate their kabobs. They are perfectly seasoned and juicy.
The home made fruit punch is a must.
If you want something cheap and filling, try their plov. It's very tasty and and filling and cheap.
Great place! Food is excellent, service is outstanding, big plates, nice prices - what else to expect from a cafe. Atmorphere inside is very picturesque, oriental design, very nice, the room is not that big, nor small. They speak russian and have russian menu as well. Highly recommend! Thank you, guys, for the pleasant experience. Definitely will be back one day.
Very good place, clean and good service. The food is perfect and very traditional. It is more than affordable given the quality. It worth the trip from Boston to try this food.
One of my favorite place to have some delicious authentic Tajik style dinner. Warm vibe, good service & nice location ( specially in summer time).
Hard to find parking around this place though.
Fantastic food. Nice comfortable atmosphere. Will definitely go again.
Super delicious! Clean and very friendly. I havent been home in the last 6 yrs or so, but this place has so much in it from back home. So authentic. Yummy.
We had Oshi Palov and salad dugh!
This place is amazing. The salads and breads are fantastic. The Tajik national dish is not to be skipped. The samsa are also of note, both the crispy and the puff varieties. The meat skewers were good, but very straightforward. The prices are very reasonable and you can have quite a feast for less than $25/peraon. No booze on premises, but there is a great beer store half a block away that sells draft liters to go.
I'll preface this review by saying that I don't think the dish that I got here (skirt steak with potatoes) is one of their specialties and it is likely that their other dishes are better. That being said, I can only review based on what I had. I'm rating it a 4/5 but if I had to be honest this was a 3.5/5 experience for me.
The meat was tender but the sauce was overly sweet. It was kind of reminiscent of the BBQ sauces that Heinz and other brands sell. Not terrible, but not something I enjoyed very much. The mashed potatoes were not good at all. They were overly buttery but strangely not creamy - just kind of lumpy and tasted more like butter than potatoes. They tasted very homemade to me, but not in a good way; reminded me of my Dad's mashed potatoes actually. I would not recommend this dish.
The decor here is very nice, it feels mildly upscale even though the food is very reasonably priced. It is definitely unique compared to the multitude of sushi places and other boring cafes in the Sheepshead Bay area. The staff is very nice but not exactly 100% fluent in English.
I would recommend checking this place out, especially if you have not had this type of cuisine. But I do not recommend the steak with mashed potatoes at all.
Good place to try tajik food. Good service, good food, enjoyed it.
