It's a little hard to describe this restaurant because it's a few things - casual diner atmosphere but with great food and drinks, there's a coffee bar, meat counter, and they play vinyl records. All to say that it's a nice addition to the neighborhood.
Their menu is mostly smaller plates so I'd recommend ordering a few things, especially at brunch because they have a lot of nice side dishes. Their burger was delicious and they have a great drinks menu.
Service is nice and friendly too.
Probably the best restaurant in the neighborhood but they've got some challenges ahead of them. Billing themselves as a general store, it's not entirely obvious that they're a foodies dream at night.. especially from the outside. For awhile it wasn't entirely obvious they were open because of the tinted windows outside. That said, when you enter the space you'll find that it is a really well designed general store with meat counter on the left, coffee shop on the right and restaurant/cocktail bar in the back. There's even a chefs table in the back to watch the chefs at work.
My only real gripe is the price point. I want to be fuller for the price. Or at least have a small plates options and more big plate options menu. I imagine they're still working the kinks out of the place but really, if you're looking for good coffee, cocktails, meat, cheese or foodie style dinner.. this place is legit.

As of last night I've been in four times, three for dinner and once for lunch, and this place is fantastic. The pork chop is the single best piece of pork I have eaten in my life. Seriously. The beer can chicken is also phenomenal, with a delicious gravy poured from a beer can over the chicken, table-side. The mushroom conserva is everything I've ever wanted in a side of mushrooms. What else? The fluke crudo with ratatoullie coulis is fantastic and unlike any fluke crudo I've ever had. Beef Tartare Tonnato? Yes please! The staff are welcoming, friendly, and provide great service. I've had 3/4 of the cocktails on the menu and all of them are wonderful. How can I be this far into my review and not have mentioned THE CHEESEBURGER!? It's excellent as a single but the double is a real treat- don't skimp on the homemade special sauce. I've tried the roast beef sandwich offered at lunch and it is also a real winner, although we haven't had it since they started using Runner & Stone bread which I'm sure takes it up another notch. We've also picked up a chicken from the butcher counter and asked them to butcher it in a specific way for our recipe, which the butcher did easily with skill. The chicken itself was delicious and shows how good of a job they do sourcing their meats. There is also a very nice cheese selection. This immediately became our favorite place in the neighborhood and we are counting down the days until they start serving brunch. Keep up the great work! We will keep coming back... maybe too often.
They just started serving dinner and wow, what a find! I belive it is two ex Danny Meyer alums so makes sense why the food and space are so well executed. And, looks like it is way out of the core-foodie-dining areas of P Slope and C Gardens but took me 22mins via the D to R from Soho / Manhattan. Definitely worth the trip and hope they don't become compliant with such at great start!
Great burger and relatively inexpensive for what you're getting (local, artisan). Awesome beer list too!
It's a coffee shop, butcher shop, cocktail and wine bar, and a small plate restaurant. It's pretty much Brooklyn in a bottle.
Best selection of vinyl record albums on constant rotation in an eclectic mix from the turntable behind the bar.
Great coffee, cool vibe, love the people that work here. Highly recommended.
