The place sells mostly meat items so for a vegetarian like me....
I got vegetable patties and I truly enjoyed it.
Interesting!. I got take out from here. I've never had this type of food before but I thought it was really good and interesting. I had jerk chicken, rice and beans, plantains, and oxtails. They have this good soda type drink called like champagne kola? And the cocoa bread is good. Oh and Jamaican beef patties are my favorite thing there. Definitely a good place to go if you're in the mood for some carribean food.
Vegan Meatballs - Why Share?. I usually walk into this eatery for a veggie pattie but yesterday I was surprised by two new additions, veggie chop suey, a standard Caribbean Dish and Vegan meat ball. I choice the meatball since I attempt to avoid starch when ever possible.Even though this dish is usually served with rice for $8, I was given the option of a vegetable alternative. I took it home to eat and since the heaps of seasoned cabbage, mixed vegetables and meatballs looked overwhelming I promised to share some of the meatballs with my mom. The first spoonful of lightly spicy Caribbean flavored soy nibblets cast me into a phase or forgetfulness as mom prepared her plate and saved a space. Sorry mom, too slow but it luckily the restaurant is short trip from the house and Lawrence St. subway
I love the place, the food is awesome. I've been a long time customer for over 10 years and no matter how far, because it's a trek to and from work , I go there to Order my food. Yes the lines are long during lunch and maybe breakfast, but it says a lot about the restaurant and it's food. Miss Gwendolyn is always so pleasant. She always has a smile and when she speaks of the Bible I love it. It's probably the only Christianity I'll get for a while. I always feel at home and that is the only place I eat my Caribbean food at.. I just don't trust other places . They deserve more than 5 stars.
It's always a pleasure to have my oxtails here. I live in the Bronx & attended church in this area, so I love to have my oxtails & white rice of boiling dumplings if it's not finished. Boiled dumplings should be served throughout the day, not only for breakfast🇹🇹❤🇯🇲🥘
I must say this location, the staff is polite and friendly. The lunch special is very filling and delicious. There's a seating area that has enough space so you wont be rub elbows with the next person.

Everyone in there including the manager is really nice. The food is decent but there's this older short lady who made me stop going there after giving me a verbal beating because i ordered soup. Apparently the chef who make the soup had passed away but some how i was suppose to know that. She even went as far as to say to me... The chef is dead you're alive and you're worrying about soup? All i said to her do you have soup. She said not today i asked will you have any tomorrow since i work in the neighborhood she went off on me and called me selfish.
I really like this Golden Krust. The people who work here are very friendly and I appreciate that. Also, they always have spicy patties on hand, whereas many other locations frequently run out.
Love the oxtail and curry chicken roti. Specialty rices are always tasty. Long line around lunch time, but it goes pretty fast.
The Golden Krust on Lawrence st downtown Brooklyn is the best. I travel from long island and my sister comes from the Bronx and we meet here for lunch all the time. The food is well seasoned and delicious, customers service is very respectful, clean, and the meal is hot.
With the exception of one franchise location (near Broadway Junction), the food is consisently satisfying and priced. The staff is proud to share cultural tips of how best to enjoy their delicious menu options.
The staff is very helpful here compared to most of the other Golden Krust locations in Brooklyn. They are also more adequately staffed compared to most of the other Golden Krust locations in Brooklyn.
Good Caribbean food. A little disappointed that I was charged an extra $1 for a container because I wanted my roti separate from my curry chicken.
