Had a great dinner at Sam’s! Pizza was so good. The owner was so friendly and makes you feel right at home. If we lived closer we would be regulars!

Visited from DC and had a great dinner here. We don’t really have these kind of old school Italian restaurants down our way so it was a real treat - delicious and reasonably priced food with laid back but friendly service. Was nice not to feel rushed and just be able to relax and enjoy the food and wine. It seemed like most of the other people who came in were regulars which also made us feel like it was a good authentic spot. Definitely a gem

I love Sam’s. It’s super classic old school Italian. The place hasn’t been redone since it opened. I love it. There is even an old phone booth in there. It’s so warm, cozy and charming. It’s one person manning the house, he’s done this all his life. This is a homey restaraunt and you feel like you are treated like family when you dine here. The food is good portions and affordable. Really tasty. Their pizza is my favorite but of course the day we come they didn’t have pizza! Something to have to do with the dough machines. That was okay though. We got meatballs, ravioli, a side of meatballs, chicken parm and spaghetti and veal cutlet and escarole, two bottles of wine and two pieces of cheesecake. A lot of food for 4 people but I was hungry! We got there at 6:30 on a Saturday and didn’t leave until 9:30. It reminded me of having dinner in Europe where the waiters don’t care and you can sit there all night. It was so nice to relax and eat and catch up. The chicken and veal is pounded very thin. Everyone loved their food. I really liked the meatballs, super light and not heavy at all and great flavor. The sauce is very sweet and vibrant. The pasta is cooked perfectly Al dente. The ravioli were big and delicious. Loved the bottle Chianti we got. The cheesecake here is my favorite, it’s real Italian ricotta cheesecake. Def try it. All this food under 200 with tax and tip. They give you complimentary bread for the table and plenty of it. The French fries were also very good, more like potato wedges but they really hit the spot. We moved from Brooklyn and the one place I miss is this place. So glad we were able to visit and eat here. This is my favorite pizza place in Brooklyn so I hope next time we visit they have pizza. But no matter what they have it’s all delicious!

My entire family has been dining here for years. The food is authentic and delicious. Louie makes this place special. Only complaints: Can get pretty warm inside and the bathrooms need to be deep cleaned. But, you cannot fault any of the food. Best restaurant on Court Street!

Great red sauce Italian spot. Enjoyed the ravioli with tomato sauce and the veal with mushrooms. Cash only and friendly service. It was in a woody Allen movie too

Red sauce Italian is the best way to describe this place. It's been open since the 1930s. Walking through the front door is like being transported back in time. The pizza is fantastic, it's perfectly charred in a brick oven. The pasta and parmesan dishes are excellent. The prices are very reasonable, but it's cash only.

This is overall a good place. Takes you back to the 80's i.e. old boots, wood all over. The atmosphere is authentic and fun but the food needs to be updated. Very cheap. Good both of wine for $20.

Louie is the owner and whatever he says goes and that's all you need to know. Best pizza, best cheesecake (you gotta try it, to die for), fuggetaboutit! (FYI : does this place look familiar? Checkout The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) I love this place.

I had been looking to dine at Sam’s for quite long time. I had also read it was a very special old school/vintage Italian American joint in Brooklyn. Last week I could finally make it with my family and we loved it. The food was incredible: Veal Parm, Clams, Calamari, Meatballs, Ravioli and the best pizza I ever had in my life (believe me, I am a pizza freak). Lou is the owner. He makes you feel at home while also have a great time. This old-school vibe is hard to find nowadays. Sam’s won’t disappoint you at all. I’m now counting days to be back in New York and dine here again.
