Travelled here on a snowday because i knew if i stayed home i would never get any studying done but instead would have been a couch potato/movie watcher for the entire day. Upon arrival i was greeted with a smile from the owner and told to grab a seat which i did by the window. This place is welcoming and cozy and have just the right lighting. Great place to enjoy ones own company or company of another. You can get work done ( has WiFi ) and sing along with the popular music that plays throughout the cafe. No need to listen to your own playlist unless your not into the top 100 music like Bruno mars and Adele for example. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and might i add the food is outstanding. I plan on coming here again.
This place is a great find. We went for Sunday brunch and the service and good options were exceptional. I had the Chive Cheddar biscuit and my wife the Avocado Toast. Both were tasty and fresh. The speciality drinks were imaginative and refreshing. Definitely try it out.
Incredible atmosphere. They’ve managed to perfectly balance between coffee shop and restaurant - the décor is great, the service is great, music choices set the perfect tone, and at any given moment you’ll see some folks coming for brunch, and others reading and working over coffee and tea. Bonus, the full wall of windows provides really lovely natural light. Definitely come here.
Came in for breakfast because our original meet up spot on Lewis Ave was closed. Opened up Yelp and this was another nearby walking distance location to try. We were kind of disappointed that our first choice was not opened. However, Sumner Cafe opens daily at 0730 for breakfast. They have just about all things related to breakfast too. Although now I think about it I dont recall seeing waffles on the menu. Nevertheless, it was empty for a Thursday morning but picked up a little after 10am. We sat ordered and enjoyed our meals with great customer service. Our pancakes were a little dry to my palate even with the additional fresh blueberries, strawberries and bananas on top. Mimosa and Bellini were our morning beverage of choice with scrambled eggs, cheddar and chive biscuits, and everything bagel with lox.
So I love this little cafe. Especially Sunday afternoon after church, it’s a cute, quiet and comfortable place for brunch. Sometimes the service lacks and other times it’s super attentive, it varies. Overall through the food is good and consistent and I love the variety.
I have never written a review before but I must say I had a great experience here. The corned beef hash was excellent, and I was the only customer for a while and felt very at home chatting to the staff and reading my book. I had a rough night, and this experience has made today a very good one.
Amazing people and amazing offerings! I enjoyed the Chicken Sandwich- kale, avocado, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, onions , bbq jerk chicken ( spicy) on sourdough bread. I am happy that my journey in food brought me here. Attentive behind the counter staff, met the owner(s) on location and now they're offering wine and beer... I think it's worth a try... Australian elements in menu gives lots of fresh and local options, mellow vibe , irresistible peppermint tea... Need I say more
A rare find in the Brooklyn cafe scene - chill, clean, spacious space that is great for solo or team work or socializing. They offer take out or table service with a full menu including veg and vegan options.
*Baby friendly w a changing table in the bathroom, high chairs, stroller accessible and plenty of room for a stroller alongside your table.

Love the ginger turmeric lemonade. Their waffles with berries are yummy and not an oversized portion. Baristas happy to advise about local sights and restaurants if they aren't busy
