Had the lamb sausage. It was quite tasty and had a little heat (not mentioned on the menu). The salad was OK. The hummus could have used a little more salt and garlic, though. The home made pita was light and fresh. Service was good. Definitely coming back.
The place is a sit down restaurant as well as a take out spot. Our waiter Khalid was knowledgeable and kind. The food was diverse as far as middle eastern food goes. The hummus and other spreads were very tasty and well made. Everything we ordered, from spreads to salads, from apps to main course, was excellent and tasty. I would come here again for sure, if I am ever around the area.
My favorite middle eastern food spot in the area, definitely. They make their pita fresh, and it comes out of the oven all poofed up, so yummy. I've met friends here for dinner a few times, and it's been really quiet there which I like. But more often I'll just order Zaytoons delivery. Some places really mess up Mediterranean food when they deliver it but they do a really great job of it.
Tasty middle eastern place. Friendly staff. The food wasn't outrageously delicious but the service was great and the meal was satisfying. As an appetizer get the Zaytoons Salad Combo to be able to taste an array of the home made middle eastern salads with some fresh pita bread. Also BYOB with a cork fee.
Came in with the family for lunch for the first time. We were greeted with this latina waitress, we didnt catch her name. She was so pleasant and welcoming, she gave us our menus and took our orders carefully, and when the food came out it was deliciously good looking. We started eating it and were blown away by its magnificent taste and texture. Definetly a place would recommend to others who are passing by NJ!
Very authentic middle Eastern food, the hummus and babaganouj (Sorry!) are fantastic with their fresh-made pita. I had the lamb shish kabob, wife had the roasted chicken (beware, it's HUGE), friend had the seafood pizza. All fantastic.
The staff was super friendly...probably the friendliest I've seen in NYC. The restaurant is cutely decorated and not over the top. The food was pretty average though that might be b/c this area is packed with extremely authentic middle eastern food. BYOB is a plus.
Great prices! BYOB! ($2 uncorking fee) Great desserts! Outside seating on the sidewalk so ya'll can watch and engage in the chaos on Smith Street! Probably one of the better middle eastern'esque restaurants in Carroll Gardens!!! $40 for a full 3 course meal for two = Winning!
Food, service, ambiance and $$value. Ample portions with wonderful flavors. Menu has multiple options for any type of palette from appetizers to desserts. You won't be disappointed.
The shawarma fries with beef, lamb, feta, pickled red onion and cilantro are amazing. Their zaytoons platter is great to start with and share, outdoor dining and byob. Amazing brunch spot as well, get the Turkish coffee, French toast(best French toast I’ve ever had and not too sweet, which is the usual problem I have with French toast) the merguez is great and I always get a side of grilled haloumi cheese as well.
